For another £46 you can have a T-Rex 500 with 3 cyclic servos, tail servo, blades, ESC, motor and gyro. It's even dearer than the Gaui X5. I also think the growing market is in the 550 size class rather than the 500 size. Let's also hope that the RJX ali is better than it is on the Xtreme 50!

Thanks for the comments so far - its nice to have feed back chaps, yes its not cheap but as we all know sometimes with the Align heli the radio gear/blades is not everybody's favourite some preffer to fit their fav servos etc and it gets swapped out - its aimed at the Mikado level, which equal in cost but mostly plastic , remember this is all alloy (Paul :0 ) but well see - thanks so far and please keep sending comments

I like the way the servos mount to an ali subframe that holds the main bearings. Having the motor on top with a lower bearing block for the pinion is also nice (at least that's what it looks like from the empty frame).

Although the bigger interest level has shifted to the 550 I think it's probably possible to get a lot of performance out of a 500 with the
advantage of much lower costs for Lipos and chargers etc. I say this based on how useful the Trex 500 is IMHO and yet it's a bit
heavier and not quite as elegant etc.

Some prefer belts as they're cheap to repair & robust - But the Mikado still is all plastic...

What I'm saying is that for £339 it should be torque tube at least, as belt driven helis tend to be cheaper than torque tube driven ones.

It's a good job it isn't torque tube driven, as what would the price be then?

If you haven't seen one, look at the way a T-Rex 450 Pro goes together.

On that the bearing blocks and servos really do come in and out as an assembly (though you'll probably need to tighten the servo mounting screws in situ), and the motor and mount can be removed without disturbing the gear alignment.

                          I think I much prefer that set-up.

Also, look at the RJX anti-rotation guide. It looks like it's on a single bolt !

I assume the anti-rotation guide fits into a slot or something but it's hard to tell
                            in those photos.

Yeah, I recently got a 450 Sport and kinda wish I would have gone for the Pro
or one of the Beam E4s that were for sale on here. I have not yet done anything
with the Sport and I am still considering selling it and getting something else but
I'm also not flying 450s as much as I used to so still undecided.

Looks quite nice but certainly very pricey so I don't think sales will be great. Hey, you never know. Good luck anyway RJX.
