  • Owning an RJX -What's it like?

I've been looking on the RJX site and seen their new 90 size gasser which comes in a variety of configurations, flybar & flybarless, belt & TT drive, CF & silver graphite.
What's the experience like for those of you with an RJX regarding quality of parts and flying?

Do you know the prices on the gassers? On the RJX site the prices are not shown. I looked at the dealer they mention in the UK but did not see the gasser there.

I'm not realy looking to buy one but just want to keep up on what's out there as it could have a bearing on the resale value of anything I have now.

I love the look of the Eagle 260 from Sportsmoto but it remains to be seen how it holds up over time and how much spares are etc.

I guess in the back of my mind I think about maybe selling the Predator in favour of something that is more cheap and cheerful but wouldn't want to trade one potential problem for another.

I haven't found a price either, whilst not a bottom less pit the price is secondary to what the quality is like. I was after some feed back as to how well they're made and what they fly like.

I have a RJX Hurrican 50 Pro - all metal as standard I think the quality is very high. Brilliant to fly. Richard Budd has done the review of the 90 gasser in the next issue of Rotorworld and I am sure Rik as Rossendale Models will give some info on price, always found them very helpful.
        Just some thoughts

            Hi Simon

Not Quite....It is work in progress - some of us have to work over the christmas period so it will have to wait for a few issues so that I have enough time on it to do a thorough review. I think they have been quite brave letting me at it as although I like the RJX machines, I could never be considered a gas fan!

What I can say is that there were no issues on assembly or quality, the heli is as per the X-Treme 90, but with modifications to suit the CRRC 26cc engine. It has electronic ignition and no pull start. The weight of the one on my bench is 4.9Kg without blades. It is currently fitted with a monster 500g silencer which was fitted as it was the only one available at the time but will be looking forward to adding a lighter tuned pipe system once I have the engine run in (takes alot longer than a glow machine!)

Are there any negatives - yep......fed up with my workshop having a hint of petrol in the air!

            Price is as follows:

RJX X-Treme 90 Gas Silver CF Belt Version including CRRC 26cc Engine

            Supplier: RJX Hobby
            Code: XT3101A
            £817.35 excl VAT

            and Merry Christmas

            Radio: Spektrum's and JR's

Engines: OS, NovaRossi, Irvine, Webra and YS

            Fuel: OptiFuel

            LiPo's OptiPower

Flybarless: V-Bar, CSM, BeastX and Gaui.

Thanks for the replies guy's, I'll have to give Rik a ring or TrexMAD, whoever they/he is, have I missed something here as I didn't see a post from him?
I'd be interested in the black CF flybarlless version with the TT tail, if I do get one I may as well get the one I want.
