I found the something similar. The amount of cyclic pitch that I can set on the ENV flybarred means that roll and flip rates are quite low compared to my 700. It seems that the head pins are too long and foul the swash plate so you can't dial in the same amount of pitch that you can with other helis.

I do find that it seems to make it more stable as a result, but things just happen more slowly.

      I found this too
I also like the nippy feeling of Rexy (my 700) but find the class of Dave (the ENV) hard to beat.

I swaped out my paddels for KBDD ones and they are a huge improvment to the feel at the slight loss of what I can only describe as centering.
They seem to make the heli sensative to trim.

I guess the answer is ,...... go flybarless which is what Dave was to start with, shame a faulty servo caused me to go flybared before I worked out what was wrong.

I still love the feel of Dave and he has been promoted to my no1 heli.

I've got the bits at home to do the FBL conversion I'm just waiting for Curtis to send me the latest TotalG firmware. I saw a post from him somewhere that you cannot use the v1.02 backup files on the latest firmware and I'd rather only setup it up once. I also have an annoying tail wag / twitch that I'd like to try and get sorted before I go FBL, although hopefully cleaning up the starter shaft will fix that as it seemed too rough.

I'm not sure my Rave is #1 yet, I had a stupid grin on my face on Christmas Eve after I'd flown my 600 & 700, which I'm not getting yet with the Rave

It sounds like the flybar version needs some quicker paddles and light blades to get it moving in the cyclic department!

Well I went to pick mine up today! Thanks Fast Lads :-)

Had a quick rummage through the box and it all looks good. Manual is impressive as others have highlighted!

Slight change in spec for my build. Fastlads had some BLS251 in stock, so I'm gonna fit one of them instead of the DS8900G!

          So final spec'

          Spektrum H6040 Cyclics
          BLS251 Tail
V-Bar Blueline Full Size (with Sats Rx)
          YS 91 SRS
          Hatori SB19
          ElyQ Regulator
          Radix 710 Flybarless Blades
          MOAS Clunk!
          Optifuel 30%

Its been a long time since I built a model with all the stuff being brand new! It must be Xmas!

          Cheers

Well if Rachel not green with envy, I am. I was feeling ok about your new Rave. I convinced myself I could wait till Spring to buy my New Logo. But Paul no more pictures. The pains too much to bare.

Paul why Spektrum H6040 and not bls451. Did someone recommend them?

You have no excuse. You have all the kit. So start building.

                  BLS451 were out of stock!

So was on the look out for something else. The H6040 look to have good specs, speed and torque wise and I've seen a few people using them, so thought I would give them a try. Price is good to.

Time will tell how good they are, but I couldn't find many people having issues with them.

Build has started, frames together. No major issues so far, just a few of the bolts have had miss cut threads.

I've not got a very good digi camera so won't be posting many pics. If people want to see how one goes together there are some build videos on AllmyRC.com.

So far so good! Said it in my last post, the manual is amazing, best I have seen in my 11 years building these toys!

                      Hi Paul,

I have put 10 gallons through my ENV fbl and I am very happy with it. It is a quality heli. I have had the same issues as highlighted by others but in the scheme of things they are very small. A very good first production kit.

You will find it builds very quickly and easily.

I have used a csm bracket screwed to my clutch stack to hold the governor sensor. Eased the anti rotation bracket. I did lightly sand the bearing collars on the mixer arms to get a better fit but I am very picky.

I am sure you will love it.

I've never known you to be so keen to start a build. It normally takes you weeks to start. It's looking good Paul, any problems to date.

( have you been shooting at it already, what are the bullet holes in the wall behind the Rave. LOL.)

                            No real problems, just issues.

Only real issue I have had is some (about 4-5) of the bolt threads have been been miscut.

As for the model, there are some really nice design features, it is well thought out. So far I am happy with my purchase!

Err...........as for the bullet holes, they are the results of my DIY attempts on my house, that I should really be doing rather than building new helis!
