Not many threads in here yet on the Rave so thought I would start another and track progress.

Thanks to the FL Boxing Day Sale I have one on the way. Specs will be:

    Rave Nitro Flybarless
V-Bar Fullsize Blueline (with Sat Receivers)
    YS 91 SRS
    Spectrum 6040 Cyclic
    JR DS8900G Tail
    ELY Q Regulator
    Radix 710 Flybarless Mains
    Kit Tails

Just need to decide on a new muffler!

Now thats sounds my sort of spec ! I would go with Midlands GP Exhuast which I use on my last YS91Sr engine, they look good and perform very well ! Can we have some pics when youve done please !

I always liked Muscle Pipes, shame the latest one doesn't fit a YS!

Seems a good range of choice:

Outrage - Good Value, but heard they have had some weld issues.
GP - Mid Range Price and look nice.
            Hatori - No introductions needed!!

Pulsar has one on his OS 91 HZ in a 700 rex and I holds his headspeed way better than my MP6 , but then again he hasen't killed his rear bearing yet !!!!!!!

An bulid advice / tips you need just ask away.

My 1st tip ,........... the Rave looks fab in pink

I'd have a look on runryder and helifreak for build tips as there were some issues with the first lot of kits, not sure if this has been fixed in the later runs.

                    The problems I've found are:

The anti rotation pin is stiff in the anti rotation braket, I filed / sanded the gap to allow it move freely
The starter shaft is cast and has a rough finish, which is I think is causing vibrations that are giving me a tail wag, so I've polished it up with some wire wool to give a smoother finish.
If you're using a governor and want to install the magnets on the clutch bell, install them and the sensor, which most people seem to glue to the plastic clutch stack mount, before you put it all in the heli.
The links on the tail slider can be quite stiff and need to be resized a little to make the movement smooth.

Overall my FB Rave was a nice kit to build and I think some of the issues I had could have been because it was a kit from the first batch. It's also a nice heli to fly and looks much bigger in the air than my 700, even though it's only slightly bigger.

Yes you have to sand it mine was sticky at the bottom .

I took that up with Brian at CYE and it's intentional ,the roughness, apparently its to make the one way in the top start lock better.

If you're using a governor and want to install the magnets on the clutch bell, install them and the sensor, which most people seem to glue to the plastic clutch stack mount, before you put it all in the heli.

                      Mine were ok

                      Happy building

Hatori SB19 it is! Thanks Shaun.

Will be going to FL tommorow to pick up all the bits n bobs!

Thanks for the tips! Not sure I will be going Pink with mine though Rachel. I see that Canomod have a few new Rave canopies, hopefully a few different other paint schemes hit the market soon!

I adore the middle one!! mmm.

i'm still struggling with my flybarred one at the moment, granted i need ALOT more stick time with it but it doesn't feel locked in in manouvers and i just cant get enough movement, alot more tuning needed for me
