  • Converting Rave ENV head to FBL

I have Googled around and searched a few forums and from what I can gather it looks like all I need to convert my flybarred head to FBL is the ENV FBL hub and swash driver arms? It seems the grips stay the same, just move the ball to the outermost hole ?

Technically it looks like you could, in a pinch, convert the FB head just by fashioning the washout into a swash driver but you'd have a goofy looking top bit where the flybar used to be.

I am not 100% certain I'm going to convert it but it's a strong possibility. I love the way it flies now but I am kinda keen to be able to go to really low headspeeds, plus it's so stable now I shudder to think how stable it would be FBL !

Think you have the measure of it. PM Jonesheli he recently converted his bound to be fresh in his mind.

    Cheers,

You've got it there Sheryl, new fbl hub and the swash drivers and balls on the outside hole. I'm pretty sure you know this but make sure you have the new balls with the bolt that goes through the grip into the ball.

      Depending on what fbl
unit you may use makes quite a bit of difference where you have all the ball spacings from the servos right up to the head and also what length of balls on the swash, if you go vbar I can give you all the info needed.

      Hope this helps.

        Cool! It seems quite painless

I do have the latest version link balls with the bolt that goes through. I am not totally decided just yet but if I do convert it I'll be using a Total-G as I already have one and I'm using one on the Beam Avantgarde and it works great.

I think if you go with the Total-G then you can go with the stock ball spacings etc from the manual as it's optimised for that unit, makes sense I guess!
