  • Outrage Velocity N2 one way bearing slipping

Other than replacing the Outrage OWB and starter shaft with Align Trex 600 parts... Do any fellow addicts have a solution to the one way bearing on the clutch slipping when you are trying to start it? I replaced the bearing and shaft for new Outrage parts and it still slips! Am I missing something?
The %$£&*@* thing flies brilliantly and I really need it to START when I want it to!

As I see it there's only 4 points of failure. The hex fitting of the starter itself, the starter cup on it's shaft, the bearing itself and the bearing's grip within the clutch. For the last one my solution (on trexes) has been to epoxy it in place rather than using bearing-lock

I forgot to mention that I changed the hex fitting as well. The bearing is seated very securely in the clutch- so it definitely the OWB and cup...

I had the same trouble first of all it was the hex adapter that was slipping. Got that sorted then it started to happen again. Could not figure it out then I realized that it was my starter wand slipping on the shaft of my dynatron. Its was driving me mad! lol Have you checked your starter?

I havent got mine with me & I could be wrong but I think there was something in the N2 build instructions about greasing or not greasing the OWB during assembly. It might be worth checking with the zillionare that he did or didnt do whatever he was supposed to when he built it!

Will read the instructions...if that fails then I will mate it with my Trex and an unholy abomination will be created!

There's nothing wrong with an unholy abomination, my N2 is the Bast*rd child of Outrage, Align, Gaui, and even a smattering of Kasama!

Lol rubbishy N2s who on earth would want to buy one of them.....:-)

I did put grease on the inner side of the one way bearing that goes into the clutch....but haven't you since replaced that (clutch bearing and shaft)???

Swale I am very unhappy with your shoddy maintenance of my heli!!! I told you when I bought it from you that I was your responsibility to keep it flying - even when it crashes...

...and yes i forgot to grease the bearing...I will have it at the patch this weekend so you can sort it. Bring the Goblin, I'll fly that while you fix my heli!

OK, so the Trex and the Velo got their jiggy on...and the Trex donated its starter shaft to the Velo. There is now no slippage at all - go figure!
