  • Outrage G5 FBL with FBL controller worth it?

    hi all,

been holidaying the state side for a few weeks now have been looking at get a heli if cheaper, the only thing cheap at the current exchange rate seems to be an outrage G5 FBL with Cyclic controller for £245 which is nearly 150 cheaper than the UK.

KRG5001FL-CBA-CB - Silver OUTRAGE G5 Flybarless kit (FG Blades/1700KV Motor) w/ Outrage Digital Flybar - Combo Kit

i read a few review seems to be ok but not many following it,

is the flybarless controller by outrage any good?

so what do you guys says is it worth buying on at this price/ hows spares backup for this model?....

any cheap stuff/stores, anyone is aware of state side which i could get.

your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks in advance.

The Outrage flybarless unit is just a rebadged Skookum SK360, but thats a fine 2-axis gyro. The downside is that with a tail gyro and all the leads everywhere, your heli will be full of spagetti. Mine flies lovely with the SK360 and backup is good.

Spares in the UK are an issue. In fact, spares worldwide are an issue for all Outrage helicopters. They are lovely helicopters but only buy if you have other things to fly why you wait for outrage parts.

G5s used to be a nightmare for spares in the UK (I had a stock-pile and also used Heli-Direct...), but Fast-Lad do them now, and I've not seen any problems since.

Then again, I wasn't aware of worldwide spares issues for Outrage - which could just be my misisng it.

AIUI, there's some pretty serious backing behind Outrage.
