Does the top of the bolt not get in the way?? Do the batts touch them at all?

Depends what pack you use,both the gens 3300 and opti 3500 fit bang in the middle of mine so would be inbetween the bolts

The KDE tray would make using a 6s turnigy setup easier but for 12s can't realy see a need
as you still have to do up two thumb screws if it had a clip retention system it would be great.

I was using Opti 3500's but now gone to 4300's as the model feels too light, too floaty on 3500's for my liking.
