Just got back from Fast Lad and am the proud owner of a Fusion 50 plus mks servos, OS esc and vbar

A bunch of cash but i'm happy ... i got what i knew i really wanted
Wasn't until the chap put the blades onto the counter when it then hit me that it was quite a large heli I always knew it was but seeing 600mm blades sat there (again even though i've seen Trex600's before) was just something else...

I'm doing a build blog - did with my trex, and just cos its nice to have pics and even if no-one but me views it i'm still doing it ...

Look forward to the build now over the next weeks
Cheers all for advice so far .... i know i'll be calling on you again

I think you're going to like it, and yes for a 50 it's quite big

Thats kinda it ... i was looking back and forth over many models but for some reason there is something about the fusion that just makes me like it more .... cannot put my finger on it but it just has something about it

Gonna take my time with the build .... will read through the book tonight at least and start thinking about where things can go etc

It is quite long. The other night it was sitting here and I kept looking over and thinking how long the boom looks and I just wonder what size blades will actually fit. But a quick check with a 690mm blade reveals it's not as long as it looks, it's a bit of an optical illusion. I would imagine something in the neighborhood of 640mm would fit and still have clearance from the tailrotor.

--- just out of curiousity I checked the length from the main rotor shaft to the tailrotor and the Fusion tail is roughly a couple inches longer than the Hirobo SDX or the Raptor.

It's not just the looks, they fly great too.
I have found it confidence inspiring and made more progress since I got it than with all my previous machines.
I even got brave enough to try a knife edge piro the other day. Turned out less knife edge and more like disposable plastic Spork but it felt good

Think we have a problem ....

Went up to Fast Lad to buy the parts and they'd run out of Scorpion Commander ESC's which i originally wanted so they've sold me the OS OCA-1100HV ESC as an equivalent suitable one .... but now looking at this it has a fixed PWM of 32khz ... now i don't pretend to understand this but looking at the ranges people seem to be using, they're running at 4-8 ... is this ESC totally wrong for the motor?

Started mine yesterday and so far only had a couple niggles,
One of the bolts in the swash was rounded and even with heat i couldnt get it out to change the top.
                          Snapped a link.
Nothing much has changed from when i built the Velocity when it came out and thats still going strong
Just got to do servo's and try and get the totalG in somewere !!!!

Did a bit of swapping today .... ditched the OS esc in favour of a more conventional YGE one (90A HV) and the Castle Bec Pro (having read plenty of stories about it not really coping with 12S) with a Gryphon AGENA 45V 15A

Bit more expense but long term i think worth while
