nice one norman..if everyone paid with paypal as goods instead of people asking to be paid as a gift there wouldn't be so many scammers out there. So come on people stop asking to be paid as a gift

BMFA Ads site is riddled with scammers of all degrees. If you buy anything on there makes sure you meet and pay cash and see and feel what you are buying first. I'm no longer a member but got stung a couple of years ago on something relatively cheap. My mate still uses it but he always meets rather than relying on post...YMMV

Nothing wrong with not wanting to pay the charges to be honest but there are just far too many scumbags out there. I've done things in the past by the book and been had and PayPal have shit on me so I now only do PayPal from people I know on here via Gift or Pesrsonal Payment Owed otherwise it's a cheque and wait a week or collection

Never agreed with people asking for a gift payments, a gift is a gift no come back.

I do ask for PP payment's fee's to be covered by the buyer tho, but if they have funds in there account they'll have no fee to pay.

I think personal payment owed is ok if your paying for something and cover the item you buying in the text message & heading.

i agree with rapt50 on this.
and as far as paypal is concerned why should i pay as a gift and give up my rights to protection? why do people ask for costs to be covered anyway?
if someone asks £100 for an item as far as i'm concerned thats £100 they get!why should i pay the extra for them getting the privilage of having my money instantly! so if you ask for fee's you dont get my custom!

I agree, the fees are so little with paypal anyway, ok with peeps i know on here i dont mind so much paying as a gift, but peeps i dont know i pay the price they ask and they pay the fee's if they wont accept that then theres always someone else selling the same item

If you link direct to a bank account instead of a card you effectively have PayPal funds available and so you don't pay fees that way either. I suppose there's one less degree of separation from a security viewpoint but it does mean you pay no fees without tying up funds sitting in PayPal.

Another scam is people buy something and then pay with an E-cheque which doesnt clear paypal for 4-5 days. YOu get an email from Paypal and if you dont read it properly you dont notice that it says 'payment pending' next to the payment. You send it off and then the purchaser reokes the cheque. This happened to my daughters boyfriend who lucky managed to get the Police to retrieve the package from the post office , it took a police warrant no less

I agree parcels should be sent with paypal as goods. But also i side with the buyer paying fees. Its for their security really, paypal, so pay the fees by way of a few quid on top. If your not prepared to do that send a cheque, wait untill its convenient for me to visit the bank, then wait for funds to clear. Ideal if you dont need to rush the parts through, plus you have my postal address then.

I dont mind using bank transfers, you have the option to garnish the account through the courts if the goods dont arrive, and im on top of my accounts to spot any fraud (highly unlikely to be able to defraud me with my bank account numbers anyway), so its quick and easy too.
I normally offer my address if giving bank details, just for buyers protection.

Always send parcels special delivery for max protection!

I pay by gift all the time so should really change it but if its with people I do trust then I have no issue with it. If im buying from people who I have met and traded with before like Swashbuckler etc
