O550 makeover :)

Well after 4 months with the wicked 550 I decided to give her a makeover.
Out with the Silver fibreglass frames in with some carbon
All new ball links and thrust bearings.
New belt and pulley
Carbon tail rod linkage.
All checked over and in perfect condition.
Oh and dyed the gears Orange yeah baby lol
I'm loving the O550 looking forward to a great year of flying

Gears

What did you use to dye the gears and how do you go about doing it?

I used Rit dye, they have loads of colours.
put the gears in a sauce pan and heat very gently and stir do not let it boil otherwise you can melt the gears on the bottom of the pan.
I heated it then took the pan of the heat for a bit then wentt back to it heated it again until the colour is dark enough.
differant manufactures gears take the colour differantly, ie Trex 450 pro gears came out Red and 250 tail blades and paddles came out dark red whilst Outrage gears are more of a dark Orange.
