Outrage 550 FBL project

My little fleet will get a new member:

- Outrage 550 CF
- Outrage FBL conversion kit Fast Lad Performance
- 3x Align DS610 on swash
- Align DS 650 on rudder
- A mikado mini V-bar with two little Spektrum satellite receivers
- 95 mm tail blades
- my trusty old X-Era 4030, rated at 3.1 kW
- Jive 80 HV with 6V BEC
- 2x Hyperion 4s 4200 or
- 2x Hyperion 4s 3300 or if power is found lacking
- Hyperion 3300 4s+5s

If it lives up to expectations, there is one free slot in my subscript (see below) for a "crazy horse"
The fun police will immediately notice, the mini-V-bar is only specified for up to 1000mm rotors. Officer, I don't know what you're talking about.
Any comments are of course welcome :-)
Now where do I find heavier blades than Maniac...

Will follow with interest,I dont know why Mikado are limiting the Mini to 1 metre rotordisks with much competition about to appear in this market.

There are several reports of Mini V`s being used on 90 size Nitros with no problem.

I was gonna say - a lot of people on Heli Freak seem to be using Mini Vbar on 50-90 size helis and no one yet has had a faliure.

The only real reason I can think of for Mikado specifying the MiniV not being suited to larger helis is due to the extra current draw that four modern digi std size servos may suck too much amps through the MiniV.

Other than that don't really see a reason?

Brief update:
As it turned out I ordered the full-size V-Bar. Clicked the wrong button. Oh well...
I spent some evenings playing with the firmware, set it up very carefully and test-flew it today.
Result: Smash success!!
Even without any parameter tweaking, it flew like on rails. I only increased tail and cyclic rates a bit.

Stops in flips, rolls and tictocs are very accurate.

I must agree,although i am very happy with the feel of my flybar models i cannot help but grin when i fly with the V bar.

Inverted autos was always the Monkey on my back with it,i just didnt have the balls to do them.Now its fitted to my 600N,a model i am happy to crash they are a doddle.

I have flown the system since May this year and have 3 now,none have missed a beat in what must be over 150 flights.It has taken everything i have thrown at it on any model i have tried it on with 100% sucess.

I flew it for most of the afternoon, and am still very happy.
Only one minute was spent for flying the 600 NSP, barely enough to crash it
One blade grip is bent, that sealed its fate: It will be converted, and another FBL head and V-Bar are ordered.

Now I tried it for the first time with a LiPo that wasn't totally frozen.
Power isn't too bad :-)
