OK, this isn't funny. After switching to 95 mm blades, the belt failed shortly after. The old one was dark orange-brown and had lasted a hundred flights or more. When it failed, it, lost most of its teeth, but remained functional.
Then I put in an bright clear orange belt from the standard 550 parts list. It lasted two flights, then it snapped when I test-piroed the heli immediately after takeoff. Fortunately no damage.
Apparently I'm not the only one, whose belt failed after a very short time.
Does this mean that from now on I'll have to play russian roulette with every new belt? If so, my 550 will be scrapped quite soon in favour of a T-Rex.
BTW this belt was very weak in more than one spot. I managed to tear it in two using only my hands, several times. This would never be possible with a Raptor belt, for example.
