  • Is fusion 50 a good buy??

    Hi All,
I have been looking to get another heli, for the summer. Well, rude not to really .
I love my E5, getting p***sed off with the logo( tail keeps wagging, like 20 degree wag??) and have seen a fusion 50 for sale. I quite like the look of them, fairly chunky and the spares(or lack thereof) issues I've read about in the past seems to be less reported now, so I'm hoping they are freely available?

If I'm completely honest, I would prefer a 6s heli, but there seems to be a few people that have changed them to a 6s from 12s setup, but not the deciding factor.
Does the front gear box still need modding to eliminate the sideways slop? or have outrage sorted this?

Any advice/ pointers, good or bad, would be appreciated to help me decide on whether to buy the fusion 50, or look at something else??

    Cheers,
    Andy

I loved the way my Fusion flew, but in the 2 crashes I had I ended up with 2 rekits and the same for 2 clubmates. Suffice to say there are no Fusions left in the club now. They are particularly weak across the gyro tray area at the front and both of mine snapped clean off. I managed to bend the mainshaft in an S shape.

No real problems with the build or with maintenance although I did used to buy spares from various as they aren't readily stocked everywhere.

Just sold mine and glad I did. Spares are getting harder to source and mine stripped gears like hell until I did the mods. Not something I'd expect to do with a new build. Got it sorted in the end but got so fed up with ill fitting bits that I got it into a decent state then sold it. Cost me a bit replacing badly machined parts. Should sort your logo out if you can. A much nicer in my opinion and no problem with spares etc.

      Hope this helps

That wag is either the servo dying or something overlooked in Vbar settings. I'd switch servo's with your E5 first before Getting rid. I had a huge headache with the tail on mine till I switched servo's

Thanks guys, 'nuff said really. As I tend to prang more than I ought to hahaha, a rekit every prang is not a viable proposition. I will steer clear of these ones then.

@ Jon. I do like the Logo, but it's been wag free for months and now it's decided to play up again. It's not a gain wag, it seems to be an anytime it fancies scaring the cr*p out of me, angry 20 degrees per side wag. It used to only do it going from inverted right way up ( i only do 1&6, not 3d). I'll give it one last chance with new tail blades and bearings and then it's off the heli heaven with it hahaha!!

          Thanks again.

Absolutely love mine, and will continue to fly it until I deck it or cannot get a single spare for it. However, if I were buying new now, I would look elsewhere. They're not being made any more so getting spares in the future is going to be tough.

I love my Rush and G4, but my Fusion is my go to model for chucking about

Brilliant heli. Holds up against my E700, is noticeably nicer to fly than my Goblin 500, but would I buy a new one? Hell no!

Used, they're a good buy for £100-£150 bare, if you already have the electronics to go in it.

I'll fly mine until I put a good crash on it, then I'll shop around for a second hand 550-700 size machine to house the electronics.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

Same here.... i have mine ... flies great... really lovely heli but i know the 1st big crash i have means thats it for this frame ... unless i fall really lucky with parts availability it'll be a write off and sold to someone on here most likely for whatever spares are salvaged.
Spares are getting really tough to get ...
