Hi, I have a S9257 on my tail at the moment but want to upgrade to a better one as I'm getting a slight wag and heard that It could be the S9257. What servos do you guys use for the tail? Thanks.

is that on your MSH protos with the spartan DS760 gyro? I hate to state the obvious but have you tried changing the gyro gain much?
I don't have a MSH protos but I run an Align DS650 on my Raptor 50 and a DS520 on my Trex 500 which seem to work great. The align servos are good cause they can handle Higher voltages unlike a lot of the futaba tail servos which eliminates any problems you could get with a step down.

500's are loads better with a full size tail servos, take your pick from a 9254 to a BLS 251

Used a few tail servos over the years from 9253, 9254, 9251 , 9256 , JR8700 , JR820, JR8900, DS650 and to date my fav is the JR8900. Yet to try the BLS251 which is a excellent servo apparently

Bls251, 9256 and jr8900g are all the same IMHO and the best out there.

I currently use 9256 on my 600, bls251 on the 700 and a 9257 on my 500 which I find more than adequate

I've used an InoLab 261HB and a S9257 before I switched to a BLS251.
It really does make a difference. The tail is completely solid, and one of the best I've tried. It tracks like it's on rails.
With mini servos, there was always a wag and a slight twist on the tail.

Yeah ive tried turning up the gain and turning it down but there still is a slight wag no matter what I do. I might try the BLS251 out.

I might try the S9254 instead as you can pick them up pretty cheap.

One thing I tweaked on the spartan was the deceleration profile. It really helped a lot on the fast tail stops. No bounce now.
