help on metal blade grips

I have a protos which i got recently that had metal blade grips spare, went to put them on but cant seem to get the thrust race and bearing to fit.
On the out side i can get a bearing or thrust race..
Any ideas ???

There are two versions of the Protos blade grips. The early ones had both the radial bearings on the inside and only the thrust race on the outside. A poor design IMO because there is no spacing between the bearings. The later grips moved one of the radial bearings to the outside beside the thrust race and give much better support.
If you've got a set of metal grips that are the old design (there were some that Infinity Hobby made like this) then I would not use them. The newer plastic grips work better.
