    Servo For Protos

    Hi,

    Just smashed my Protos up when the gyro came loose. Awesome. I have ended up smashing up one of the servo cases, Hitec HS-5085MG and I am now wondering if these are the right servos. Should I have HS-5245MG on the Protos? It would appear the cases for these are easier to come by..

    I put Align DS521's in mine. Very sharp and crisp.

      I would consider the 5085 to be an ideal servo for the Protos except perhaps for those who want to do very hard 3D. The 5245 is good too, but heavier and a bit of a squeeze fit.

        Not sure on the cost comparison with the Hitecs but I have run the Align 510 and 520 on my Protos.

        I would recommend the 510 over the 520s for cyclic use. The extra torque of the 510s outweighs the highspeed of the 520s IMO.
