I personally would like a see a much lower shutter speed and the rotor blades shaped like a dish, Not a knife.

Example below. Please don't be offended by my comments, Just my opinion.

I must admit, i do like my static blades but thats just me That shot looks good buster, what shutter speed did you use?

      Thanks.

The shot was taken at 1/160th which is quite low but as seen makes the shot look tons better.

I know its irrelevant but if you had posted those shots on a photography forum they would have gotten a proper slating.

      It most certainly is Tommy.

Most cameras have the option to change shutter speed so not a problem.

Trouble is the average user puts the camera into the "Green Auto Mode" and is quite happy to shoot away all day.

Use the advanced modes and get the best from your camera.

I must confess, I like the blades to be blurred, just as you see them in real life. However, the pics of the heli have to be razor sharp, as both yours and Tims are, Steve.

The D40 is a great camera (as is Tim's Canon 1D Mark III and EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM lens he used for that shot!).

And Tim's right - the photo forums pull no punches with their comments/critique!
