My dream heli, the 380Evo, even though I've only been flying for a few months, I have had my eye on this bird for a little while, definitely my first kit purchase once I've actually learnt how to fly CP fully! The Brain 2 seems to tick a lot of boxes too. Can't wait, but really must wait....

Nope, doesn't have breakaway bolts, but the few people on Helifreak who have crashed one have been pretty positive about it, it seems to be strongly built.

I'm using the standard boom on mine, that's cheap enough that if I break one I'll just buy a new boom.

People with the Evo boom have reported them surviving multiple crashes (5 solid crashes is the most I've heard of), so it seems that it's tough enough that not having breakaway bolts isn't a negative.

One other nice touch I forgot to mention is that the top bearing block has slotted mounting holes. Once you fit your servos, you snug the top bearing block down on top of them, and then tighten it up. Much better than my Gaui X3 where some of the servos are slightly different sizes and are a bit loose in the frame. This has four bolts on each servo, with the servos solidly clamped by the boom blocks too. Mechanically there's a lot to like on this heli.

Not having to think about belt tension is another thing I like a lot :-D

This would be my first choice for a 380 sized heli today. Looks great and would just have to get the Evo for its looks!
I'm glad to see more options in this size range as I really enjoy the convenience of smaller helis and small packs.

Have to say it looks great. Hardest part is deciding which colour rather than whether to get one!

It will probably come down to what the shop has in stock at the time!

Heh, I went *ever so slightly* overboard with the motor :-)

A 28xx 890kV motor is recommended as ideal for hard 3D on the Protos, with some people running 26xx motors just fine. But when I saw an Xnova Tareq edition 3215 930kV up for sale second hand just as the P380 was announced, I just couldn't resist. :-D

It's massively overkill on this heli, heck, you have to shape the skids so they clear the motor. On the plus side, it's doesn't bog. Ever. lol

I'm having a lot of fun with this heli, flying at 2300, 2850 and 3250 rpm, which is one heck of a range!

Just finished and had a test hover in the garden, super quiet!

Now need the wind to drop so I can give it a proper test...
