A few more general pics before I start.

The NHP750 blades are on order but I am going to try the 690 size for now.

Not much spare time tonight but managed to make some slight alterations to the frame as per Rctintin's build thread to allow the tail servo to sit in the provided space in the frame with out touching it.
Same problem - different tail servo.

Also a few pictures of the revised frame set including the slide in battery tray arrangement.
Note the larger triangular cut out at the front (which I think will suit the access to the Kosmic much better) and the additional hole at the lower front edge to take the battery tray retaining pin.


I think that the curved front edge has also been changed to allow a Pyro 800-48 to fit.

A few more pictures so far.....a slow build due to time and a build issue.

It seemed there was a problem with the new frame set.The holes that are used to attach the cross brace to the frames are very slightly in the wrong place.
This lead to the Cross brace only have the clearance of the thickness of a piece of paper( quite a bit less than 0.25mm) away from the front shaft.

I contacted Gerd at Minicopter who checked this out and he ended up sending the side frames he has back through the milling machine to have the holes elongated to give a better clearance.
He offered to send me out a new set of modified frames but in the end I did the job myself.I then used washers on these bolts.
Spacing is now around about 1.5 - 2mm.

I'm using the red tail pulley on the heli to speed up the tail when running very low head speeds.I think it's recommended not to go over 2000rpm with this.

Optional Tenax canopy mounts are going to be used.These are fixed to the canopy and are sprung loaded.
This seems a lot better than fiddling around with the supplied clips.

All now stainless steel bolts thoughout,the zinc plated ones were still supplied.

At least with the new frame the Kosmik fits better - no more cutting of the frame to get to the Kosmiks micro SD card.

I'm on holiday in Dominican Republic on Monday for a couple of weeks so I can't see much more being done until I get back.

I'm in no rush though..

A little bit more done since coming back off holiday on Tuesday.

New sliding battery tray arrangement shown and optional CF landing gear.

Pyro 700-52 fitted with Kontronik 6mm connectors.

Additional rear mounting plate will hopefully be used for vertically mounting the V Bar unit (sorry about the pic being on its side)

Managed to get away from work for a bit a spend a bit more time on the build - I did mention this was going to be a slow build

Electronics are now in and tested.Still have the V Bar to fully set up though.

Going to have a look at a final solution for the flight pack setup and connections and then I'll move on to the head.

Where did you get those spacers to lift the cables up so they could come back? or did you make them yourself?

So I cheekily emailed a company who make a variety of these and managed to get some free samples sent out - enough for the job.They wouldn't sell me any unless I bought at least 500 units.

Pretty expensive if you have to buy them!
