What a royal pain getting this fuse on. I thought it would be a lot easier than the the SFR but was I wrong or what lol. Its just been a lot more fiddling and tbh actually most of it was prob my fault. I lost count how many times I installed the tail gear and took it out again lol but its all in now. Wiring is all done and secure and well away from any moving parts with no chance of moving or chaffing etc.


I run a long Futaba heavy duty Y lead to the programming port of the BD unit which will have my slave attached and my OG so I will simply unplug one when I need to program the unit etc.


Just got to instal the motor and ESC then she is good to go.

Got my packs sorted. Some Optipower ULTRA 7s 4400's so the maiden will be tomorrow if the weather plays nice.


Only got that set and an old set of 6s Opti's that fit it. For now anyway as got a few more 7s 4400's on the way next week now I know these fit Only just though, they do not move, they are a perfect fit!!

Well its had its maiden flights. All went well without drama.


First flight was with the only 6s packs I got that fit which are a set of my first 30 Opti's. Then I stuck the 7s packs on to start bedding them in. So the second flight was only short and not particularly hard or fast at all but I can see its going to be as it just slips through the air soo easily.


Motor is hot upon landing even after these gentle flights. I didn't measure but based on experience I'd say 55 deg C. I expect it to get hot when spanking it even though I have 2 holes right in front of the ESC which look like they give good airflow over the ESC and to the motor.


I LOVE IT, can't wait to get these packs bed in.


Will look at the logs from the Kosmik for curiosity sake just to see what they show with the temps.


Yes, ideally would connect direct to the ESC from the motor but this will work fine and without issue as this was the ESC out of Spunky and has been like it since I got it. Its number 000130 or something silly. Don't even know tbh what fw its on?? Best see

What would be kinda cool is if a special tail fuse could be made that fits on the regular Diabolo, ala the new JR and Trex speed fuse. Something that would fit smoothly into the lines of the canopy and enclose the boom and tail pushrod. I love the look of the DS but don't need a full-on speed machine and like the convenience of the regular Diabolo design.
