I now have the first of my MA helis Flying. Thought i'd start off with the Fury 60 then move on to the 90's.
Had a few problems with it but that comes with buying used helicopters.
There was a shake on the tail not violent but annoying especially after i had balanced everything even weighed the paddles.
I also had a weird collective problem, going from full down collective to full up the heli seemed to hang for 1/2 second then rise. Spoke to Dave at M&R. Stripped the head completely and found the grease in the thrust bearings had gone hard and the blade holders were notch'y. Also the block and swash plate were hard to pull off the shaft. The oil had gone like glue. There were also a couple of previous build issues. But like i say its second hand...so should have stripped it down anyway.. lesson learnt.
After all this Now in the hover the tail shake is very slight but still there so any help would be appreciated. The collective problem has gone, its great the way you can make it bounce.
In FF its so quick and uses up the airspace fast. i really love the way it tracks no bobbing just puts its nose down and its off. Rolls are fast and exact...well they will be soon my fault not the heli's...Loops, basic moves, this heli i think is making me look better then i am... powered by an OS Max 61 WC .. great engine easy to tune although i still think its a little on the lean side at top stick so will adjust. Using 15% heli mix...but will probably buy 20% cool power.
Well this is my first MA to fly properly and i love it
Been down to Dave a couple of times now and today he did me a great deal on a swash and a tail gearbox for the Fury 90 and Stratus....
Yet again when u buy second hand u might want to look closely at the machines, but i'm happy...next to fire up is the Fury 90 extreme...powered by a YS91.. any help here would be appreciated. this is my first pumped engine
Oh and a big thanks to all the guys i have bought from on heliaddicts
without whom the heli's would still be on the bench.
