Ok where do I start with this one! :lurk5:
Let start with how. Helinut had some logo 400 canos in the FS and with some of mine looking taty I thought why not have a spare or two, the price was fair also. This lead to not just the canos but the Carbon frame, vbar head and SE boom. Having a 400SE already these are good for the spares box...so I thought! Back from holidays and a lovely box waiting in my office with a nice carbon frame inside. Also pulled out the boom and my instant response was "this is a 500/600 boom". So I messured it and it was 620mm long...that's much longer than my SE boom but not a 500/600 boom. SO...WTF have I bought here! ready to PM Phil and find out what he's sent me and realised after a bit of Google seaching it's a Logo 10XL boom. I'm now thinking what am i going to do with that, it's way too long and not a 400SE boom. Read a few HF threads and thought hmmm... 523 blades, bigger bird...I'm now thinking, with all the spares I have plus what I've just received I could cobble a whole heli together.
So now I have a Logo 400 SEE or as I like to think of it, my Logo 400X (thinking X-Men, Logo 400 mutant!) So it's a Logo 10 carbon mainframe with longer battery front, Logo 10XL boom, Logo 400 carbon tail box with 500 fins, Vbar head with 500 grips and 500 skids. I'm going to use original 400 0.5 gears with a 20T pinion and a Scorpion 4015-1070KV motor. I know this is pushing it a little but with my sport flying the gears should hold out. Also planning on using 6s 4000mAh lipo which could result in 10-15 minutes of flying, proof in the pudding needed here. So in some ways I think I created myself a 550 size logo. Not sure which blades to use yet but either spin 515 or edge 523's on the mains, the tails i'm not sure with. I use edge 87's on my SE so that's the minimum, but i'm thinking 92 or 95 edge might be a good idea as they might hold the tail better. I would value any opinions here. Also going to stick with what I know and use a BeastX FBL unit.
So what turned out to be a few spares for the box has turned into a complete project
