  • Pinion problems

On sunday was flying the Logo 600se and the pinion moved up the motor shaft and wrecked the
    main gear!

I used loctite and also fitted the support bearing, I am running a scorpion motor and it seems to get a lot hotter than any other make I have used.

My question is will the heat produced melt the loctite and therefore allow the pinion to move?
Has anyone else had this problem? Also there is only 1 grub screw on a heli this size I would have thought 2 would be needed.

    Cheers Mark.

Hey mark, has it got a flat patch on the motor shaft mate? I had one slide on a 450 due to no flat

use a file or a dremel to create a flat on the shaft in the correct place Mark

          Hi Mark,

Did you use standard thread lock ?

This will not be be strong enough, you also need to put it on the shaft not just the grub screw,

I will bring some down tomorrow night

          Cheers
          Pete

Never had that problem but did have a herringbone pinion split along the seam.
