I am hoping to get out this evening to my local flying site to try it out

Waiting until Saturday was never really going to happen was it

Like Kenny i will offer my impressions over the comparison to V4 if i feel any difference, trouble is its all pinch of salt really because its all down to each individuals preference in how they like the model to feel.

Keen to try it now though,so keen it was nearly sickie time.

Have to agree with Chris on individuals preference...

Well, Managed to upgrade to v5 this morning. Pretty easy, and best to watch the video first, and its quite simple.

Setup was extremely easy. Going through a step by step procedure, and it is literally done in... 10 minutes.. if that.

I have managed a quick flight, but have gone against a trim flight today, as the weather is a little gusty.. and was also showing signs rain earlier. Didn't bring the laptop with me to make any adjustments.

Everything is basically on standard settings, and the initial test flight, the heli just sat in the hover. Want to adjust th e piro a little, as personally, I find a little slow in the standard settings. The feel of the heli just feels a lot more natural. Still very locked in, but the feel of the sticks and response, a bit more towards having a flybar. Before the change from v4 to v5, I did have a few niggly things with the tail in hard stops, and changes of direction in 'rainbows' but it now feels a lot more locked in, and the problem does seem to have gone.

Really want to experiment a bit more with the settings.. by having a laptop with me next time..(school holidays and the daughter has sort of adopted it for the moment, and cannot get to use it!)..

At present the main rotor is set at 'medium' and would really like to try 'vivid' out and/or maybe try a bit of pitch pump. Really need to get a few more flights with it to really get a better feeling of the new upgrade...maybe a few more flights this evening if the rain holds off.

              Overall.. Very happy with it.

V5 has failed for me already because the Mac client won't run on my machine. It's also possibly badly programmed as it fails with no error dialogue at all. Nothing on the Mikado site says it won't work on older Macs. V4 was flakey but useable this is useless

I will install the pc version but with the kids off and the wife at home the chances of me getting near the pc are pretty remote!

A couple more flights this evening. I have tried the 'vivid' setting, and feel that is more to my liking. All other sliders are to logo 500/600 settings in the software. Yaw rate on the tail upped a bit.

Transitions from one maneuver to another seem to be smoother, and some quick moves and stops and changes in direction which I found on the v4 software which were a bit abrupt are also alot smoother.

Still maybe a bit more playing around with the software just to experiment, but it does fly extremely well with minimal effort put into it...

I am one of the unlucky ones where Mikado have taken my money, but not unlocked the "Load" button, so currently I am £30 down with notting to show for it. Emails seem to be going into a black hole, think they may be busy sorting out the mess ;-)
