Vbar mini help

This Vbar is a nightmare. It just will not work.

The problem;
Origionally I couldn't get the Vbar to connect via USB to my PC (windows 10 or windows XP).
So, I did a factory reset (recovery) of the Vbar and started from scratch.
Then the USB and the connection status in Vstabi 5.3 are green. However, at this point, the vbar is completely dead. no flashing V on the unit, no power to the servos, no life in the satelites.

So, I update the firmware to a functioning version. Unfortunately it says it already has 5.3.4 loaded (see picture) so I cannot load it again. Both of the 5.3 firmwares will not load. The version 6.0.7 will load so I load that one.


After loading 6.0.7 the vbar comes to life by a flashing V on the unit. no power to servos or satelites. However, the connection status goes red so I cannot do the setup. See picture 2.

Any ideas? All I am getting at the moment is a flashing V on the unit when it is powered-up. No life in the servos or satelites.

V6 is for Vbar control only. Once you load V6, it disables the USB except for recovery.

What satellites are you using? Version 6 firmware only works with Mikado Vcontrol sats. To use other brands (Spektrum or Jr) you need to be on version 5.

I've done he recovery again. But after that I can't upload the 5.3.4 update.I don't have the red tick nex to it and the load button will not illuminate. tried to purchase 5.3.4 via the infos button and typed in the serial number of the unit but the website says it is not compatible. Now its stuck in recovery mode.

You're experiencing the same thing I've just gone through. If it's 6 and it was bought as that then it hasn't got a licensed version of 5.3. Contact service on the VBar forum and they will answer, they'll send an invoice for 35 euros, pay it and they will authorise 5.3 for the unit. Log on online with the software and the 5.3 will be available, update and off you go. The recovery file only adds a shell to the unit it's not fully functional.

Same thing with me, make sure it's registered on your account and either email the regular service email address and start the process. For me I think they should allow you to go back for nowt and enable a general use V Bar but they won't so it works out to be £31, they send an update link and that's you done

If it was bought as V6 vbar, then I thought you could go back to 5.3 Express for free?
I know you needed to pay to roll back to 5.3 Pro.

in fairness maybe you can, I needed Pro for the swash parameters, you still need to go through the same process though. It may look like express but it's not, it's enabled only to allow update. Worth asking if you don't need Pro though Jamie

The software wouldn't let me update to basic 5.3.4. The update button didn't ilumintate and there is no download link on the infos button.

Thing is, it says its currently running 5.3.4 on the update screen, just below the serial number. Surely that means that it is running 5.3.4. Anyway, I've e-mailed them so hopefully should get a download link for pro version Monday.

If the unit has previously had pro software then you can go back to pro for free. You must request a license key which is sent to u via email( this often ends up in your spam folder for some reason )

you our need to run recovery software to wipe the unit then click on the link in the email and this will activate the ability to load any of the software from the list

obviously the unit must be registered to you so they know where to send the link

the support team e-mailed me back with their PayPal details. I paid the fee and its now running on 5.3.4. It was bought as V6 so no license for 5.3.4.
