  • KDS Chase 360 Blade holder bearings.

Please could somebody advise me on the correct way to fit the bearings within the main blade holder.

The manual shows that the thrust bearings should be sandwiched between the two radial bearings.

However mine came pre-assembled with both radial bearings mounted together towards the hub and the thrust bearing mounted on the outside.

They also run quiet notchy when you grip the hub and move the blade holders so something is not quiet right.

    Thanks..

The Official Chase 360 build thread and tips - Page 6 - HeliFreak

page 6 is where they discuss it. I took mine apart and re-checked it all and couldnt work out how to put it back together again as the manual sizes for the washers didnt match mine!

Anyway from memory (blade to hub) it should be thrust bearing, brass washer, bearing grip bearing silver washer hub.

    Hope that helps

        Thanks Jez N

        Very useful link.

That's how mine came pre-assembled, so I'll strip them down again tomorrow and re-assemble them as per the above drawing.

I obviously have a different version of the manual.

In fact the manual that i have is not fully complete as half the part numbers/descriptions are missing in the part description boxes on each page ??.

        Cheers..

Edit .... Looking at it even your drawing is different to how mine came pre-assembled ??

Blade to hub mine came ----- Thrust washers, radial bearing, brass washer ??

Yes, it is a little confusing. I had similar issues when i took mine apart and then couldnt figure out how to put it back together again. The manual didnt fit the parts i had. If you follow the HF thread it appears that even now it is still not as it was originally intended. But it is how most are now putting their head together.

Needs to be a washer between thrust bearing and radial bearing and the only one it could be with the parts i had was the brass one as the silver one has to go between grip and rotor hub.
