Hopefully the 550 Dom owner (chopper1 will chime in)
Im the other guy that flies with Chris B Pete.

Your 4000 Haiyins will be spot on with the Agile 5.5.We will sort out a vid for you when were next out mate. You will probably find the guys getting short flights are running high head speeds and doing full on 3d.Just my opinion.
With my 550 Dominator with 730mx motor and jive 80lv ,Haiyin 3300 packs will easily do 4 mins.
Running 55% throttle curve with stock 15tooth pinion.Gives plenty of head speed for some nice sport flying 1950rpm.
Ive been practicing for my B test so wanted duration ,so the other day I ran the same model on a 50% throttle curve but with a 5000 pack.set timer for 5mins.
When I landed and checked the pack I had 50% left.So hope that helps you.

By the way those Haiyin packs are great.

We have even used 2 3300s in our e700s too great effect getting around 4 1/2 mins.

Chris B and I reakon for the style of flying we both do 4000 6s packs are the size to go for for all our models. This is just our honest opinion though mate.

From what you have said im sure this will work for you.

Let us know how you get on please.

This is true, Lipos have improved considerably since then. It also has more to do with blade size and headspeed as to the average amps drawn and then how hard you push it for the peak amps.

        Thanks Ian and Chris.

I think I'll give an Agile 5.5 a try then. Sounds just about right. I've been using Haiyins in my Ballistic, T500 and Chase for a while and I have to agree they're great. I've swapped to Opti 1600's in the Chase for longer flight times but only because Haiyin only do 1300mah in the smaller 6s packs. I think I'll sell my T500 and get a 5.5 then, sounds like it'll work well.

OK so the Agile is ordered. Did a search on the YEP ESC's and it sounds like the BEC isn't to be trusted. That's a shame as I wanted it all in an easy package.

Hobbywing 100A V3. Strong BEC (10A continuous, 25A peak) and built in phase sensor for Vbar governor happiness.

Cheap too at about £50. 100A is plenty unless you're really going to town on head speed and hard 3D.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

Hadn't considered that one. Have you been happy with it?

I'm using a 50A one in my Chase but never got around to trying the vbar governor. Kept meaning to but never got around to having a play.

Yep, I love the thing. I never could get the built in governor working well, even though it's supposed to be good, but I didn't try very hard and just ran the Vbar gov that I use on all my other models.

If you need a programmer, Hobbyking do a little USB dongle for about £3 : USB Programming Adapter for Hobbyking X-Car 120A & 60A ESC (UK Warehouse)
So you can flash the firmware and program it with PC software.

EDIT: Oh, and I was using an ultra guard as a backup for the BEC.

Yeah the governor on the 50A doesn't seem to work for me either. I get horrible tail wag when I use it which isn't there with the governor disabled. Likewise I've not tried terribly hard to get it working though.

Pete giantshark have the 100av3 for £54. I run one on my md and the gov store is very good plus you get a fan. The bec is very strong to with very little voltage drop.

OK so after ordering a 5.5 combo I've had to re-think. I've read mutiple reports of the KDS servos not working with some FBL setups, the main one for me being Mini-Vbar doesn't work as the satellites brown out due to spikes of current requested by the servos

Not sure what to do now. I could just buy a 5.5 kit and the motor and servos separately, but that then makes it much more expensive. Which then brings me back to considering a 550L or a Logo 550SX with the vbar control combo.
