I think KDS quality is a bit hit and miss personally.

My 7.2 is really very good indeed,i love the thing, big fat lump as it is but my 5.5 gave me grief also,i did sort it all out but alas it Peed me off enough to move it on.(almost)

Very nice looking helis,if a bit overweight but I would not buy another one myself with questionable quality hanging over them but planning to keep the 7.2 for the foreseeable.

By contrast, running 4 different airframe makes now,and IMHO you cant beat Align, just built the 550 Dominator,,so easy its a joke and perfect on its first flight.

It isn't KDS' design. Neither is the chase 360 for that matter.

The Agiles are redesigned by a bloke called Roberto Gaziano, who lives in Belgium.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

So, they should have hired an engineer, rather than a bloke...

They didn't hire him As I understand it, the Agile designer, and the (Australian) designer of the Chase (independently) approached KDS to help them bring their designs to market. Hence why KDS will have both the Chase 360 and the Agile 3.6 in the 450L market. Two different designers just happening to use the same manufacturers.

From other posts on this forum and HF, seems the Chase 360 is suffering quality issues too.

First pic of new stretch option,it was commented on Freak that the boom looks pretty long so maybe 620 blades, spose the clue is in 6.2
Might get a decent disc loading on 620s but wonder how the stock gear in question would hold up under more load.

Apparently the stretch kit will have a different tail ratio, so that will mean new parts at the front end.

That would be a good idea, surely they will go with a sensible ratio for a 600 size.

But is unlikely to address the fundamental issue that one bevel gear is on the main shaft, and the other is on the tail boom; so any alignment or movement issues mess up your bevel gear meshing.

I think this helicopter would be great if they converted the torque tube drive to a belt driven tail.

That design is used a lot on rc helis. The Gaui X3, X7 and even the new NX7 all use the same principle. It doesn't seem to be a problem on the Gauis, or even the Agile 7.2.

I'll admit I prefer the conventional setup for a torque tube drive.

Interesting point - which makes me wonder what makes the difference.

Looking at the X7 manual, the front torque tube bevel gear has a pin that locates into a bearing in the main frame; and the bevel gears are straight cut.

Yes, straight cut on the Gauis Vs Spiral cut on the Agiles is the main difference. I'm sure the mesh on the straight cut gears is more forgiving.
