I think the vast majority of fliers have no issues with them, there could maybe be a batch issue with something but i am putting it down to a build related issue for mine as it stands,i had already removed all blades and run it up on bench running V Bar vibe analyser, biggest vibe peaks showed at head rpm but they were not that high a peak, but i did hear and feel a buzzing in the boom when it was running which led me to discover the TT bearing issue.

The vibe was still there with tail hub and main rotor head removed also so not much left spinning that could cause the vibes.

Good shout on the video though regarding gear meshing which i will also check.

I went through 6 tail spiral bevel gears for the same exact problem. All gears had the same ( too much ) run out and was impossible to get a good gear mesh.
The sixth gear was perfect and the problem went away. Now fly's beautiful.
One's you sort the problem, you will love the 5.5 the way it fly's

        Good luck

Yes. I to believe the nodding is caused by the meshing of the bevel gears. The mesh as got to be perfect and because some of the machining of the bevel
gear is less than perfect it is impossible to get a proper mesh. I have readjusted the thing about 20 times now. I have had the torque tube off and on and
still I get a small amount of nodding so I will send for another gear. Cheers

Just an update. I reset my mesh today got it running what I thought was nice and smooth. Spooled it up and the main gear completely exploded, almost nothing left. There is
something very wrong in my opinion with the design of this heli, that or the parts are suspect. Could have been extremely nasty if I had been standing any closer. I am now at a
complete loss of where to go next with this helicopter.

I have sent an e-mail with picture to Rob Hill. I believe he is the Agile Heli representative in the UK and am awaiting a response.

Which main gear do you mean Trevor? The main tail gear?? or actual main gear?? A chunk fell off my tail gear, as you know, but raptormark ( top man he is) sorted another one for me at AIR and once fitted along with Zeal 570's, it flew like a dream. I think they are aware that first batch of gears were warped and IMO too brittle, so I'm sure they will sort you out. It does tend to knock the shine off a new heli somewhat, when these things happen, but 5 flights in, and you'll have forgotten all about it hahaha!! As I said to you on the phone, they are Version 1, and need these niggles sorted, unfortunately, we are the testers doing just that. I just couldn't wait for V2, they are such awesome looking helis . Ring me if you can't get hold of a new spiral bevel gear, I bought one off here as a spare, but as you know,no longer need it!! It's even flat and everything, although the guy did sell me a used warped one too???
I've been deliberating about buying another one, but will probably wait until I can afford the 7.2 instead! I will be putting whats left of my 5.5, tail assy, head assy. etc up for sale when I get time to take pics, should you want spares, cos once it's flying, you'll not want to put it down!!

                    Cheers,

Hi pug907 It was the tail main gear completely disintegrated with obvious result at full throttle, frighten the whats it out of me. Thank goodness had the brown trousers on.
Yes if you want to let that gear go i'm your man give me a pm. I'm still shaking to be honest because the wife had been hanging out some washing just seconds before and the heli
shot across the lawn it would have taken her legs off if she had still been standing there. Strange it did any number of ground piros and covered 20 feet but never turned over.
I've sent a e-mail to the company I got it from and they came back within seconds of my mail and on a Sunday. Problem is they are in Belgium, I think. Anyway I was more concerned
that it could happen to some one else and the consequences could be dire.
Thanks again for your time. Cheers

That's good news that they got back so quickly. They are nice guys, trying to make a go of a product no other suppliers would take on, as hobby king were the KDS stockists. I stand to be corrected if I'm wrong of course, but that's what was on the jungle drums!! I'll PM you when I go on the mac, it's easier than this bloody phone that's about to run out of battery life haha.

                            Couple gears Tom.
Then I got fef up and ordered some more from different shops abroad till I find the one that was the later batch.
I will be sending the other 5 back to KDS with a nice letter. I am sure they will refund the gears.

But, don't let anyone get put off by the gear problem. When that heli fly's right, it fly's very well indeed.
I am getting the 7.2 soon.

My problems still persist, still have same bobbing and vibes, meshed gears, repaired TT bearing, greased dampers.

It looks like the metal tail gear in the tail box is slightly out of true when turned slowly.

Starting also to run out of patience with this heli,i love its big brother but this one i can see getting replaced with a Logo 550SX or SE very shortly as my attention span to troubleshoot is very small but its a great excuse for a new airframe and its Mikado's turn

I had a weird vibes problem last time I took it to the field. It forced me to land as I could see the tail fin flexing about an inch. Changing head speeds made no difference. It was a blur. It had fallen off my shelf trashing the canopy and main/feathering shaft, and I'd just swapped both shafts that week before flying it.

I took the blades off and ran the Vbar vibes analyser and it was perfect. It was so vibe free it was unbelievable (even to the touch). I flew it again at the end of the day and it was fine Bizzare. I haven't flown it since due to buying a Compass 7HV from a club mate.

I will be keeping mine, at least for a year as I've invested a good chunk into it, and it's so pretty. I might even go 12S over the winter.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.
