Probably a silly question but I'm just about to start 5.5 build and this will be my first foray away from
Align, clone 450 helis and also my first copter with torque tube drive. Question is do you grease the drives
on the torque tubes? and if yes do you use the silicon grease? Last question to those that have already built
one is have they overcome the swash bearing problem? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Yes, I do grease my gears with silicone grease now and again. Dry fliuds do a lube specifically for helis that's worth a look, as it isn't sticky like silicone. I also put some 3 in 1 on the main shaft and tail slider every 15 or so flights, or at least I will, I've only got two flights on it so far.

As for the swash bearings, I've had 3 swashes, all faulty. Two were obviously faulty just looking at them with the bearing centred, the other needed sitting on the main shaft to tell. I replaced the bearing in one of the faulty ones with one from Wych bearings, and now it's bang on. Last I heard, Rob (from Agile UK) was talking to KDS about it as he's still going to send me a good swash plate when he gets some more.

If you want a new bearing, you want a GE10C, which is a 10x19x9x6 spherical plain bearing with chrome steel ball and PTFE insert. Sometimes they're also sold as GE10UK which is the same thing for some reason. My bearing was about £6, but you can pay up to £15 for a good branded one.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

Thanks raptormark and bigpops apprciate your time in answering. Just awaiting a few bits, buying heli stuff from all over europe which is great. The fun will soon begin.
