No vid as I was on my own.
Yes, I went out in the cold and flew, all alone
lol
Considering its a small heli and I not really have much luck with them being that I don't like them this is actually a awesome little thing. It feels bigger than other 550's so I don't know if that has anything to do with it but it was great fun. Considering I have only had 1 flight since October it was good to be put at ease and feel comfortable with it.
One thing tho, just after take off and going inverted I heard a loud tick sort of noise. So I landed immediately to check it out and it turns out something went through the blades as one has now got a chip on it. Upon looking around to see what fell off I noticed that the 4 screws (2 either side) that hold the tt front gear support, or the frame drive shaft mount as they call it, were loose and 1 had come out and was missing so this was the culprit.
Took them all out and loctited and flew the 7.2 while that was setting. Man I love the 7.2
So had a few flights with it and other than needing to up the tail gain from 20% which I set on the table to 25% it was spot on. I was using my Opti 5300 Ultra's and they needed to be right up front as far as they go for it to balance and it was still a tad tail heavy. I guess with using a heavier motor and ESC combo it would be spot on but it didn't affect it in flight.
Looking forward to get some more flights on it to get a proper opinion on it and wether it will actually stay in my fleet or not but so far so good
A few pics from the field, mainly to prove I went out!!!!!
