Srimok 90E what else?

    Srimok 90E what else?

    Hi guys, I got:

    Srimok 90E kit
    Mini V-Bar V 5.0 Flybarless Stabilization System
    Futaba BLS251 x1
    Futaba BLS451 x3
    CC ice 120HV
    Futaba R617FS
    Scorpion HK4035-500
    Rotortech 710mm 3D pro
    Rotortech 100mm
    6x ZIPPY Flightmax 5000mAh 6S1P 40C


    So far so good, first time FBL, no idea wiring, setup.... I guess I need a good BEC, which one? someone with same Heli setup ideas please.... What BEC lypo batt? What connectors, deans, EC5,... Am I missing something?

    You could go for a bec capable of handling 12s. The three that I know of are:

    Castle pro bec - I use this but be aware some have gone up in smoke and taken servos with them. Voltage programmable in 0.1v increments.

    Hercules HV bec - Never used one, but never heard anything bad about them.

    Dimension Engineering HV bec - I use this on a 12s plane and you can use 2 in parallel for redundancy 5/6v switchable.


    Or if you change the BLS 251 for a 8v capable tail servo you could run everything straight off a 2 cell lipo with no bec.

    As far as connectors I use Castle 6.5mm ones. Lots of people use deans as well.

    The vbar version 5 software is easy and helps you setup in no time.

      Hi, I definitely wanted to run separately electronics battery but no idea which one, along with the BEC.....?

        If you are going to run a seperate battery for the electronics then just about any bec or regulator will do. Go for one with decent current capabilty (10A+) as flybarless can draw quite high current. Running off a 2 cell lipo I would go for the Gryphon regulator, or the Scott gray reactor or the Castle pro bec. You will draw about 300-500mah per flight, so if you want your seperate pack to last for the 3 flights you will get from your main packs, you will want about a 2000mah 2s Lipo.

          Thanks for the info, the Castle pro bec... lot of bad reports in different forums, I really like the Gryphon regulator, but it says is unregulated V, so i´m not sure if my brand new servos(6v) and Rx(4.8-6V) can handle this. As I post before my knowledge is very poor... What do you think?

            guys, with a regulator how is the connection between servos, battery and Vbar, what is the order...very confusing.

              The cc pro bec only seems to go pop when used at HV like 12s.
              The Gryphon is switchable voltage.
              You can't wire it up in the wrong order, if you do it just won't work, no power will get to the servos.

                Go 2S LiFe (6.6V) and save yourself the hassle of regulators. I fly straight 2S LiFe on my Srimok 90E bypassing the Jive 80+HV BEC.

                  Hi Henrik,

                  Too late, I already bought the Gryphon regulator, it looks very nice, hope it will work well with my 3000mha 7.4V lip batt.
