Hi mate, glad it's going well! My build is getting there. You got the headspeed settings sorted now?

      I'm a little insure tbh.

In normal mode at 65% throttle it was around 2000 and at 85% was 2100 and 100% was only 2150 or something like that. It was all very close and that's in gov mode.

Must be right as it is changing just a little uncertain about just how low the % would need to be to get around 1800 in normal as I would prefer a low headspeed so I can hear the difference between normal and idle up.

Oh had the pinion slip on the shaft again so I must grind that flat.

Oh, I have a little issue too.

The tail itself is rock solid but the tail fin has a vibe in it. Nothing on the boom or anything else just the fin. Does not affect the flight what so ever but I'am a little concerned as to what it could be.

I'm unsure what can be causing it.

I noticed the same thing. Machine was perfectly smooth accept the tail fin. Frame, skids, canopy, boom, etc... all very smooth and the tail performed fine. Just the bottom of tail fin was vibrating.

I am thinking its tail blades, since I crashed they will be replaced anyway now so we'll see. The tail fin is very flexible so it will pick up anything.

I think I may have done something up too tight as the other 2 Srimok E's I have seen fly do not have this issue.

It could be everything still bedding in?

Swashbukler, do you have this issue at all??

              Helpful email below:

              Hi James,

Mode 4 and Mode 11 are very similar , they both are governor mode but mode
11 holds a constant headspeed across all batteries used , it is calibrated
using the weakest battery pack... the easiest mode to use is the mode 4 and
does not require calibration... using either mode , you will not see a big
difference if any especially if your battery packs are all fairly new ,mode
11 is only used if you have a set of packs that are weak and you wish to
keep the same headspeed as the weak packs on all your other battery's.

The Kontronik 120HV can run just fine at partial throttle without damage...
there is not max / min throttle range but the heli should be geared so that
the desired flight headspeed (idleup 1 or 2) is at around 75% throttle so
that the governor has 25% headroom to increase throttle to keep the desired
headspeed. At that point you can lower your throttle range to get the
              1700rpm in normal....

              Best Regards,

              Subject: Kontronik 120+ HV ESC

              Hi,

I have just bought a kasama Srimok E and have a 120+HV esc and Piro
700-52 motor. I am fairly new to electric heli's.

I have a question regarding the gov mode on the esc, i.e mode 11? (i
think this i the best mode to use for heli's?)

I want to run three head speeds eg,

              1700rpm (hover)
              2000rpm (idle 1)
              2200 rpm (idle 2).

I there a max and min throttle range I need to use? The manual says
              80% min throttle?

I was looking at the Kasama website and it said in there the hover
mode was 30%? see below, would this damage the esc?

              SRIMOK 90E FAIFA HOVERING
              MOTOR : KONTRONIK PYRO 700-530 - JIVE 80 +HV
              BATTERY : THUNDER POWER 5000-45C 6S x 2
              MAIN BLADE : V-BLADE 710
              WEIGHT : 4.9 Kg.
              Hovering TH 30% 1700 rpm
              Idle 1 TH 70% 2200 rpm
              Idle 2 TH 90% 2380 rpm

              Any help would be great.

              Regards

No Ben I haven't noticed the fin vibrating but I know what you mean, I have seen it on my 90N and also on my Velocity, just put those down to rich engines. I'd start with tail blades first checking both blades are the same tightness in the grip, I always go for just tight enough not to move under their own weight, if that doesn't solve it try other tail blades. Also check the tail bevel to crown gear mesh. I set mine to have virtually no backlash, start by backing it off so there is some backlash and tweek that bolt to gradually bring the meshing in until there is the just the slightest hairsbreadth of movement between the crown and the bevel. You may need to also undo the top two bearing blocks during this process to make everything sit really nice. The Kasamas also don't seem to like the main blades being too tight. My 90E is smooth as silk.

Now having put a few more flights under my belt with this I can say I'm really getting comfortable now.

I know you would expect me to say it but it really is a great bit of kit. I'm over the keep staring and taking pics phase now lol and just love flying the thing.

It truly is awesome and I would urge anyone who is thinking about one to just bite the bullet as you will never look back.

Yes it is expensive and the same applies in a crash but on doing some quick comparison for a normal crash excluding blades the costs are as follows

                    Trex 700E £96.80
                    Aurora 90E £123.39
                    Srimok 90E £161.24

This is assuming you need to replace the following, main gear, main shaft, TT, boom, left frame, and the flybar and with the trex 700E what I did was half the price if it was an item that came with 2 parts for a fair comparison. I know you are not always going to do a frame but I put them in cos they are quite an expensive item. Take that out and its only

                    Trex 700E £55.10
                    Avant 90E £87.40
Srimok 90E £87.75 Thats better hey

We all knew it would be more expensive that the 700 but it aint bad

                    Awesome stuff

I really wanted to get a nitro for my next heli as I've never had one and wanted to see what they were like. I was looking into getting the new Velocity 90 when its released. But after reading your post I'm thinking twice and might stick to electric and get the Srimok E. Just a lot of £'s I need to find.

If your geared up for electric its all good.

Just some of the componants are a lot more expensive on the Srimok. The frames, blade grips and the swash for example are a far bit dearer but these are bits that I hardly ever, no wait, I have never replaced (except a frame on my trex 500 when I was beginning) on any heli so far so I would consider myself unlucky if I had to now

I would hope, that like the Velocity 50, the 90's parts will cheaper than the Align equivelant...
