    As far as I'm aware:
    • Rotor head with 'see-saw' hinge on the feathering shaft (Mine has this)
    • Upgraded secondary gear
    • Adjustable metal elevator servo mount.
    • Slightly modified swash
    • Metal tail grips

Depending on year of production a TDR may have none, some of, or all of these upgrades.

The earliest versions had a very different type of Torque tube and only a few had plastic tail grips. Mine is a 2009 model and originally had the head without the see-saw hinge, but I got the newer version head recently. Mine has plastic tail grips but when I mentioned this on HF I found that some 2009 models had metal grips, so it seems the plastic ones were only on a very early batch or something.

Mine still has the earlier torque tube, which is a solid rod and has different end fittings. Then there are minor things like the swash anti-rotation bracket is black on later ones but some are white. Mine has no gold coloured bits on the swash. The tail gears are all white plastic and I think the later ones had metal umbrella gears on the TT.

Mine has the plastic tail grips but i'm thinking of upgrading before Jan sells out of them. Do you know if they are a straight swap?

I would assume so but I don't know as I had not looked into it. I have not looked closely at the tail on the TDF either, I know it's belt-driven, but did the grips and slider, bellcrank etc. change?

I'll have a browse at the stock of TDR spares on there soon myself.

Looking at the 2009 and 2010 manuals the parts numbers look the same for earlier and later models so I would think its a pretty good bet the alloy tail grips will fit.

The tail hub and grips are different on the TDF but they can be fitted as a complete assembly to the TDR. This is what you have to do if you need a new tail hub because the TDR hub is no longer available. The TDR metal grips are available still so as long as the hub I have is compatible I dont need to buy the full TDF conversion kit. I have sent an email to Jan but he doesnt seem to be replying, which is not like him.

Yeah, it's one of those things where you won't see one for ages and then two will come up for sale at the same time (happened last year, and I heard about a third one in the BMFA that I never saw).
