  • Can Anyone Help with Setup for JR DSX9 Transmitter

Hi all, I've just bought a Nano CPX BNF. I've got a JR DSX9 transmitter which I've had for a few years and fly fixed wing and helis with it including a T-Rex 600EFL. There's no specific setup in the Blade manual but the Spektrum setups say to use 1-Servo swash type so that's what I've tried. My problem is that the throttle curve controls both the throttle and the pitch and the pitch curve has absolutely no effect. This means that a) in Thottle Hold you get zero throttle but no pitch control at all, and b) you get full negative pitch at idle up to about zero pitch at half throttle and you can't change this. The result is that anything below half throttle slams the ground fast. This setup is either very wrong or there's something faulty with the AS3X controller.
I did try briefly setting the Swash Type to 3 Servo 140 degree, which is what it looks like and you can sort of get roughly correct swash plate movement but no gyro and it looks very hard to get it right.
Does anyone have any clues how to set this up, or even better, has already got a Nano flying with a DSX9?
    Thanks

Don't have a JR radio myself, but you definitely want a 1-servo swash setup, the others will cause you all kinds of chaos.

It sounds like it might be a problem with the way your radio is outputting the channels. Spektrum will default to throttle on channel 1, and pitch on channel 6. I did a quick search, and found an older post suggesting to use the settings in the manual for the DX7:

Thanks myxiplx. As far as I can see the JR DSX9 does output throttle on channel 1 and pitch on channel 6; at least it does on fixed wing and 3-servo swash type for the T-Rex. I'm not too sure how the 1 servo swash works out what to send where.
The DX7 setup basically says "1 Servo 90", "Travel Adj 100%" for all, "Reversing N" for all channels and a bog standard pitch and throttle curve. There's nothing fancy in any of that but as I said my throttle and pitch are linked together on the throttle channel. Maybe the Nano is faulty?

Ok just bind mine to my x9ii and all is good 1 servo swash type and left all other settings standard ,flew straight away ! Could do with expo though !
then if you want less negative pitch go into pit curv and change as needed on norm,st1,st2,hold
        all working on mine ?

Kiwi64, thanks for this but as I said I can't get any positive pitch because the pitch curve setting doesn't change the pitch. The pitch only changes with the throttle curve setting which also increases the throttle. Is your transmitter a JR DSX9? Mine's a series 1; might it have changed on the series 2? Or have I got a faulty Nano?

Kiwi94, thanks for the pics. My tx looks just like yours except that its a series 1. My pitch curve display looks just like yours except that it has no effect on the pitch no matter what curve I set. On mine the throttle curve is controlling the pitch and the throttle, and of course you've got to start the throttle curve at zero at which point my Nano is showing 12 degrees negative pitch.

Ok something weird going on ? Have you tried a new model memory ? You should get about +- 12 but if your thottle hold stops the pitch something's wrong ?
maybe get someone to bind your nano to a spektrum radio ,make shore it's ok
