    Hi guys,

So I want to progress to 3D flying, trouble is I am flying with a crapy DX4 at the moment, so customising the settings is impossible. I have tried to do loops but find the tail blows out, heli falls to the floor, tried in normal and stunt mode. I have done the tail mod and a recent new tail motor. Anyone done aeros using a DX4? I have no problems on the phoenix sim.

    Thanks in advance

Loops are the mcpx weak point, with very fine collective control it will easily do it, but when learning it's easy to add too much, which overlods the system drawing juice from the tail motor causing it to spin. Try doing barrel rolls first, then gentle front flips, this is also a relativley easy manouver on the mcpx. From there it leads in to inverted. Once you have mastered the collective control try a loop, you need a lot of forward speed to get a nice round loop otherwise it turns in to a flip.

On the My Mini CP I had the same problem with tail blow out when over doing the collective. I kept reducing the pitch until I could do full collective pitch climbs without the tail blowing and never had a problem since. Stops you from over doing it.

Not sure if you have that option on your TX?

        Hi,
Yep I think too much collective is the issue, not sure I can do anything about it with the DX4 though, I will try a roll instead maybe . are front flip less load than loops and backflips? definitly need a new TX though waiting fo a decent priced DSX9 to turn up.

        Thanks

Dsx9 is maybe more than you need but if the budget gets that far why not. I have just upgraded to a jr xg 7 which Is great. Not compatible with blade bit. I think a dx 7 would be plenty and would be fine for bigger heli down the track. Maybe 8 of going nitro I have been told

Well I am building up a 450 clone V2, does that count, my old 450 head a plastic head which exploded! I think the MCPX are great for building confidence and trying things out risk free, and if you can fly an MCPX the larger heli are easier I think? Would not mind a trex 600 though.
