I bought a single jst to 6 mcpx battery connector charging lead. didn't really know what i was doing but only cost me 3 quid so no worries really. can I use this cable to my existing charger some how, or will i need a seperate proper charger? Or, can I buy another cable to convert from jst connector to fit mcpx charger.

You could convert the lead you bought to work with the mCPX charger by making a converter lead or better by cutting the leads and soldering them together. That way there would be fewer joints to go wrong. However, it would be a waste of time because 6 batteries in parallel would take 6 times as long to charge as 1 battery. The only advantage would be that you would not need to be there at the right times to keep changing the batteries. It would also charge the batteries very gently but you will soon get fed up.
Your best bet is to buy a better charger. Any of the generic '4 button' chargers should work fine with mCPX batteries but unless you get a mains powered one you will also need a separate power supply. I use this one Lipo Battery Balance Charger Overlander RC-6S | Overlander Batteries which I bought second hand, but there are many of this type available, often cheaper. I use a converted PC power supply with it.
Please read this thread http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/e-flit...ipos-help.html for advice on safely charging lipos in parallel.
