      Hi guys,
      message below quoted from KBDD
      Regards,
      Liam

We have found the major issue with KBDD International landing skids is when they are installed in a MicroHeli frame. This frame has a metal rear mount and a Delrin front mount with set screws and was designed for the MicrHeli landing skids. Our landing skids were designed for the stock main frames. If using KBDD International landing skids with the MicroHeli frame, you are doing so at your own risk.
The following is offered to prolong the life of our landing skids if used with a MicroHeli frame:
When using the MicroHeli MCPX main frames you will need to de-bur the holes where the landing gear pins are installed to prevent scoring the pins. It is important to fully remove the set screws prior to installing the landing skids and do not use them. In addition do NOT trim the pins on the landing gear, because it can weaken them. The use of a small bit of non-petroleum oil will ease installation if needed.
Again, KBDD International landing skids were designed to fit the stock frames, not the MicroHeli frames.

got the same reply from Mr Cook:
The issue actually only concerned the very first White landing skids produced. Most of those have been returned by our Dealers and Distributors and replaced. The other colored landing skids all have the new material composition. Most issues are those pilots which are using an aftermarket frame from MicroHeli. The MicroHeli frame was designed to use the MicroHeli skids. The KBDD landing skids were designed to work with the stock frame. Are you using the MicroHeli frame? If so, you need to be aware you are using our skids in a frame for which they were not designed for. The MicroHeli Frame uses a metal rear mount and a CNC manufactured Delron front mount. Those mounts need to be de-burred and the set screw must be completely removed. Do not shave the skid pins as they fit tight. You can use a small bit of non-petroleum oil to help install the pins being careful that burs do not score and damage the pins. Do not install the set screw.
Hope this helps and thank you again for the correspondence and also for trying KBDD International products.

          Hey

Just got a box from KBDD through UPS. 1 set of white skids and 1 set of orange sids to replace my broken ones. On closer inspection the white ones seem to be made of a different material and seem stronger. But time will tell. All in all great customer service but time will tell if the quality has improved. I can't test them at the moment as the main blades decided to chew the tail motor and wires up when it came off trying to forward flip into an inverted hover.

Will let you guys know how they hold up when the MCpx is back in the air

                Hello all

I have read with interest on several forums about KBDD skids breaking and i have also replied and it seems to me that KBDD have replaced a lot of broken skids for people over the last few weeks, i am not anti KBDD as i have KBDD main and rota blades and they are excellent.

I have read and replied to many threads about this and as i have said on another forum just think of the logistics side of replacing all the damaged skids that people have had, and that is not including the cost of the new replacement set.

My new bright orange KBDDs snapped the battery holder on the 2nd minor crash on grass. Not impressed!

                        Hey just updating.

New skids arrived and have been tested in the garden. The white ones hold up a lot better with no breakages what so ever.

Excellent customer service from KBDD too

                        Thanks
