        I haven't used the ESC personally but it should be fine, it also has the head room for bigger motors if you want to go down that route. The C05M might be a good first choice though since it doesn't require any other upgrades (except some good bats to make the most of it), and you'll end up with a lighter yet more powerful heli.

        When I had the C05M it was certainly noticeably better for flips etc, but it doesn't have crazy power. It should work okay with the V2 without too many annoying issues too.

          Shouldnt need to do that anyway mate on the stock setup. You just need good collective management and to give it a little "woop" before you roll (so you go collective up, then roll forward or whatever as you bring the stick down to negative pitch)

          The idea is to make the heli "light" before you do the flip.

          Anyway, what you need is pretty much exactly what I posted in the thread I bought it from.

          I used:

          Steve converter
          Xp-7a ESC
          HP-05 motor
          9t pinion

          I also bought and used:
          5 sets of micro deans connectors
          a sharp tip soldering iron (You cannot understand how ridiculously small the board connection is for the yellow wire on the steve!)
          Various heatshrink of varying sizes
          some short lengths of 20awg wire (red and black)
          3x 120 SR overlander 500mah 1s batterys

          It would also pay to upgrade the tail I think. I think you can get away with the C05M on the stock tail but not the HP05 - but I have no experience of this so cant say.


          Just had her down the local asda car park as I was popping in for some stuff anyway. Did some light sport and aerobatic flying. A few flips, stall turns etc, tried a tick tock but got scared and gave up as I didnt want to crash on hard tarmac.

          She flies nice, except the piro is horrible. Nice and quick, but when I go one way she spins flat; Turn the other and she goes nose down quite a lot - you cant do a full quick piro without some serious correction.

          Tail holding is immense despite my previous comments - I get no TBO whatsoever. Not sure what was going on earlier.

          Pitch is set at 85% both ways right now, which is a little much - I get a little bogging and the tail struggles with it a little when im REALLY pushing it (i.e drop 10 feet full negative pitch then straight onto full positive pitch) but apart from that it flies beautifully.

          Bags of power, flips and rolls nice and smoothly; Just generally flies great. Seems to have a little "Moment" every now and then for no reason where it becomes quite unstable for 1-2 seconds; But I think thats head speed related.

          Im going to try dropping the curve down to 75% (From 80) and see if that helps. I also have an 8T pinion coming which im going to try; And I think ill go for that microheli frame zeeflyboy said about when it becomes available

          Did a full 4 minutes of sporty flying on the 550mah overlander, just charging now to see how much I used!

          I can see myself buying another MCPX now. Just so I can have one that I don't mind crashing all the time! (Although to be honest all I need to buy is another 3 in 1 and some servos I can build the rest!)

              Yes I will and generally do I just wanted to try it out in a bigger space than my garden!

              So 4 minute flight time... 248mah back into a 500mah battery. That's pretty good I reckon!

                sounds about right.

                on my spin I get 5 mins of good performance and put back in around 300-320 per pack iirc.

                      Just out of interest what charger are you using .Im still using the stock charger

                        I have a fusion LX60B Pro charger - I use it to charge my 3000mah 6s batterys for my 500 EFL pro.

                        I' ve made a paralell charge lead for these batterys so I can charge 6x standard MCPX batterys or 3x 550mah batterys.

                          So, Ive just been out with it; She flies nice. Def needs a smaller pinion though, and shes not very stable.

                          Im going to buy a V1 when i find one and swap everything over, nad keep the V2 stock. Will probably just swap the boards over to be honest when I Find a V1 and resolder the ESC to the V1 board.

                          IT flies nice for the most part, but when you start to move it around it just becomes very jittery, and sometimes will just do 45 degrees of a flip in a random direction all on its own! Caused me to crash twice, not good. Bags of power though, even with the 9t pinion.

                            I was thinking of getting a v1 board to sort out my spin conversion, let me know if you find a supply.

                            Put a c05m v2 in your v2 you won't be disappointed leave the rest stock and they bounce like standard.
