Are there any upgrade skids for the mCPX that are worth buying

Let us know how u get on with it would deff consider that for my next set. Just fitted the the micro heli skids with alu pegs but have every confidence I can break them!

So annoyed just broke my new MH skid on grass landing !!!! £20 down the drain!!! Just ordered one of these bullet proof skids from eBay !!!

ha ha i think you will find i was referring to matty-boy's link have a look at the video too! i'm busy shopping around for a 2mm motor mount with fin.... any suggestions?

yeah should have read the whole thread,they look like the answer so when i finally distroy the stock ones these will be the next set to go on.

good service from the chap too, got a mail from him advising that he also does it in black and he is happy to change my order if i am interested..... obviously i went for the black... this is my 3rd set of skids in 2 months!!

Yep amazing service from the Ebay guy, did the same thing for me - I actually ended up getting two sets i was so impressed with his service, one set for the brushless MCPX and one for the normal one!

Rev4 is going to ship... Rev3 which shipped to some folks showed issues which were not satisfactory...... This has been addressed. Every one who bought R3's will get an envelope in the mail within the next two weeks.. this was an unfortunate human errror.. The problem was that on a very short number of purposefull
Throttle hold "landings" from about three feet, the pins bent over and one actually sheared off... this by no means satisfactory... R4s come to be and this is what happened.....

After a dozen throttle hold "landings" from 20 feet onto asphalt, the skids were merely bent out of shape from the absorption of "Crash" energy.. they were straightened out and good to go... To reinforce the test... A number of FFF TH planker style "landings" were performed.. -from about 25 feet and also on asphalt.. everything came out of this "Test" with "flying colors" (errr..... ) no damage to skids or the bird.. .. amazingly enough R4 seems to be a succesful rework...! So on the last of the 3 FFF TH landings.. the bird bouced of the pavement with that sort of thwap we all know (and love??) and into the gravel shoulder.. this broke the tail rotor.. other than that.. all was good to go..

i spent most of friday night refixing all 3 broken skids of mine by using a glue gun, ca glue and pieces of zip tie to replace the broken tabs

i might look at this ebay link you guys are talking about.. but so far, i got 3 working skids again!

I watched that video after ordering new MH skids, thought good idea but can’t wait to put my new MH skids on with the Alu pegs! deff cant break that!...... broke the MH skids on first hard landing on grass... bought one of these "bullet proof" skids within minutes!

yeah my MH skids bend the alu all the time and snap the carbon.

Ive found the A type carbon pieces better than the other ones...stronger.

Apart from that though they really arent a whole lot better than the stockers.

My "Bullet Proof" skids from eBay have arrived. I ordered them on the 21st of March and they arrived today from Canada so shipping is pretty fast.

They arrived in typical heli-part packaging in 3 pieces - 2 skids and the A-Frame. It went together fine (bit fiddly as it's a tight fit but you don't want it loose!) and fits perfectly into the stock frame.

I've not flown (or crashed!!!) with them yet but they look promising. They seem slightly beefier and possibly slightly heavier than stock but not by a great deal.

Turnigy 300mAh batts fit in nice and snug.

Looks very promising!

If you don't see any more updates from me - assume they're still going strong! If I break them, I'll let you know!

Thanks Matt.. Nice to know that shipping is fairly fast to UK. The "bulletproof" skids( a term I am going to attempt to move away from.. suggested by a fellow named Bob who is also in the UK), the "tuffskids", weigh in at 1.25 - 1.35 grams.. Stock wieghs in at 1.1 grams.... so there should be little to worry about with fligh time....or performance!

I am not satisfied with the skids that were sent out and as such a redesigned "revision4" will be coming your way. They are tougher, and only slightly heavier than the Rev3's. .1gr . Everyone who bought the Rev3's from me is in the qeue for a new set. So enjoy and keep an eye on your post box!! Happyflying!!
