Spin 14000kv conversion

Im in the process of converting to brushes using xp12a and spin 14000kv. As the motor wires and esc wires are not colour coded how do i identify which to solder together? Or does it not matter? Im using a v2 where do i solder the yellow Steve wire to? Cheers guys for your help

As for question doesn't matter... If you get it wrong it'll spin the wrong way - just trial and error.

If you are using the XP-12A then you can actually just solder it up and then reverse direction in the ESC settings if required.

If you shorten the wires, bare in mind they are enamel coated and you'll have to burn off the coating.

I have taken the white/red/blue wires from the Steve to the ESC (white to white, red to red, blue to blue) and that works just fine.

What pinion are you using? What batteries?

Im going to use a 9t i think, and nano 300mah for now, im not sure how they will hold up to the spin motor. Im waiting on the pinions at the moment hope that turn up this week, i ordered 7t up to 10t to try if i needed. What pinion are you using?

Those batteries will not be great.

Even on my hp05s build they crapped out very quickly. I would really recommend Hyperion 550mah and micro deans connectors... It'll make a noticeable difference.

I'm running 9T at the moment. Not sure how you got a 7T in 1.5mm shaft with mod.3! 8T is right on the limit of running out of material.

Motor from miracle-mart.com, they have the XP-12A as well but personally I already had one from elsewhere

Xp12a from overland UK, fastlad for the spin motor. ordered the Steve direct. the pinions are the real problem order from Poland and hope they turn up soon.

Dear Ronny,
Been flying the mcpx v1 with spin BL14000kv by 10amp helimax esc. The 300mah turnigy lipos last 4 mins where as the 550 20c 120sr lipos last 10 mins. i.e mild 3d. But the kit is very powerful. I have just bought a overlander 12amp esc to upgrade. Tell me how urs goes.

Wow, I fly mine for around 5 mins with hyp 550 and worked out that 7ish mins would be the max while keeping the batteries with 20% left... 10 mins is a long time! How are you running yours? I fly mine 100% flat with a 9T pinion.

Mostly just default, but i set throttle limits obviously, put start to soft and timing to high. Seems to work well so far.

Wasted few hrs - soldering the 12amp esc , sometimes working & sometimes not - redone soldering for motor wires ? Dry solder but no help. The esc arms everytime but spin motor works & sometimes doesnt. Not even a test flight. Finally gave up & resoldered the helimax 10 esc back with the spin14000.
My settings for 10 amp helimax esc with spin 14000 - 100% throttle with 85% +\- pitch. On 100% pitch travel the motor bogs so i decided to try a 12 amp esc.
Sorry the time for 550 sr120 lipos are 8 mins not 10 mins. On the C05M with 7 amp esc was getting 10-11 mins but c05m wasnt powerful enough.

Just had a test hover, this thing looks like it has bags of power! Its a bit messy at the moment and i think the booms a bit long. Got a very slight nod as i Need to balance everything. I need to get it outside as it scared the crap out of me with just a little throttle. I Will get some picks up once tidyed and explane what's been done.
