  • Ordered the Brushless Setup

Ive just orderded what i think is the correct brushless setup for my V2 but could someone just confirm that i have the correct stuff please.

    HP05s + 9T Pinion
    XP7 ESC + programming card
    Steve converter
    Stock Frame
120 tail mod (but unsure what length boom or blades)

I have spent the last 4 days looking how people are wiring up there setups . and looking at my V2 board mine seems different in the way you solder the yellow signal wire to the board (please correct me if im wrong)
So i was going to just use the yellow signal wire plugged into the main motor plug instead .

Also instead of soldering the ESC to the main board i was jsut going to solder the main board wire to the esc wires , Will this work or will i encounter some sort of problem.
Is anything else nedded to program the ESC because i dont have a Spektrum RX

To be honest i would rather not solder anything to the main board as the luck i have isnt that great at the moment.

If anyone could advise me then i would be greatful

The brushless motor kit from midland heli is plug n play no soldering requiered, and needed no modification to the frame, that is the microheli c/f frame upgrade and the Hawk Rc creations motor and esc/converter is 50+% lighter!

    cheers

This is a great setup you have ordered, reliable and trusted! Same as what I have ordered! Best of luck with the mod, I can however recommend a micro heli frame or new rakon heli frame. This will make installing the new motor 100x easier without modding the stock frame! You can make you own PNP kit by adding connectors then you don't have to solder anything. Also I have heard some reports of if you solder directly or pug directly to the motor port then you may loose some linearity on the throttle.

        Hi Cuppa

That is the conversion i was going to purchase. The only reason i never is because i know at a later date i would want more power. So rather than upgrading twice I might as well do it once and hopefully be happy

Thanks i also have heard/read about the linearity but as far as i can workout if you fly in IU it dont really matter or maybe im wrong.

As for the frame i will purchase one but im going to try the stock frame first.
All the best with your conversion and please let me know the outcome

          Thanx

I belive that should i wish i can swap out the 8t&9t pinion but tbo i think there (for me) is no issue with power now i have this upgrade fitted, thats not to say power can not be improved further. for me i am happy with this upgrade and relatively easy to fit+ cost is not too Ouch! just to point out exess signal noise on the esc will cause throttle to jump (not smooth) from 0-50% throttle, the Hawk Rc esc treats 60% on the throttle curve (tx) as 100% to the motor.

Manythanks for the advice . I was going to order 2 spare stock frames but after reading i ordered the micro heli frame instead

There seems to be so many different ways to wire up the heli and ive done so much reading i think ive confused my self.
Some people say solder here others say the motor plug .

Ive got to wait about 2 weeks for stuff to arrive so in the mean time im going to build the micro frame and install the 120 Tail
