  • How to check for zero pitch at mid stick?

    Hi all,

I have decided its about time i do a proper sertup on my mcpx.My question is,How do you check for zero pitch at mid stick on a FBL heli?

When i setup my other ccpm helis you have the flybar as a reference so i just wondered how you use a pitch guage with fbl?

Make sure you have the swash level first.
Switch the tranny on, then the heli and quickly place on a flat surface.
Eye up the swash without moving the heli, to see how level it is.
Adjust each push rod length as necessary by screwing the ball links on the rods to get the swash level.

    Once swash is level:-
Make sure Throttle hold is 'ON'.
    Switch on tranny then heli.
Fold the blades back over the boom, move the throttle until the blades are parallel with each other that's zero pitch.
If the throttle is not now at midstick then you need to adjust all 3 link rod lengths the same amount, to keep the swash level, until the blades are parallel at midstick.
That's then zero pitch at midstick.
More than accurate for the mCPX.

On the bench I drop a suitable sized allen key through the blade grip bolt hole and adjust until it's parallel with the main shaft. I do the same for both

oh joy,It also looks like they dont sell the gears seperately like they do on the MSR and i have to buy a new servo for 18.99 just because a gear is knackered.

I think this may be what you want but do a bit of research to be sure.
Replacement Servo Mechanics SPMAS2000LBB 1.9gm | Midland Helicopters Ltd

Otherwise a complete new servo but £10 more.
FastLads sale until tonight. At least the discount covers the postage.

Send the damaged servo back to Horizon Hobbies, tell them from a new heli only a few days old, if that's true. They will more than likely send a new one by return post, free of charge.

I just fitted the servo and pinion gear from my MSR and they seem to be the same.My FBL is not working now.Doesnt correct,But i am sure thats nunrelated to changing the gears. The servo is operating as it should
