Grommet mod - cut the grommets in half ?

Hi,

I got an mcp-X for Christmas and it is a bit wobbly so I am going to do the grommet mod - my question is should I cut the grommets in half ? Some people recommend cutting in half to make thinner, some just use full width - any suggestions / pro and cons please ?

Hi Mike, well it's a bit tricky to go back to full grommets so try full first to be safe. On my mcpx full made the swash to stiff and it flew like a pig. Maybe the tolerances vary. The heli will be much worse than out the box if full is too much.

Full worked for me,better still,get MCX grommets,it seems to be what eflite use as the V2 'sash plate damper'

I used half, works great.

I have a little bag of silicone o-rings in the post thou, they look like they'll be even better than the grommit mods. 50 for like $1.50 lol...

I tried cutting them in half and just lost the bits! So I use full ones - and on a micro heli swash as well

I have also done boom extension mod now also - any other "essential" mods
