  • Took mine down to our club site today to see what it was like in an area bigger than our pocket handkerchef back garden. Had the stable blades fitted and it definately did not like piro's and it took an age to flip inverted with these blades on but it was very stable. Did suffer a bit with height changes when into the (gusty) wind but overall I am very impressed, I just need more head links now, as I lost three in two inverted crashes but she is a tough old bird - oh and stacks more batteries to enjoy her for longer.

or it could be that horizon has sold an absolute bucket load of the things. The probability of failure is determined by

the number of failures / total number of units sold.

As none of us know the actual sales numbers how can any of us really know the failure rate. Im not saying that failure rate is high or not, only that we are all just guessing

            • I agree. It's very difficult to know what is going on. HH having helped themselves by selling an advanced heli as a RTF. Most people going for an rtf will not have a clue about what is reasonable. My Twister Storm feathering shafts kept breaking with each crash and scattering all the bits on the lawn. Someone, probably Boggy, advised me to change to the Blade400 ones which bent rather than broke. No mention of the problem anywhere else though.

              • Well both bearings have let go, first after 2 flights & other side after 5 flights, also found that the main gear slipped down the end of the shaft causing it to hit the battery when applying collective.

Have pushed the main gear back up shaft & replaced bearings with the align 250 ones & so far so good with a further 5 flights without failure.

Hope horizon sort something soon as do not want to keep paying out for bearings.

                • So, sixth flight, after a couple of "incidents", something was amiss, so I took the head off to have a look. Someone at HH has definitely taken on board the comments about the feathering shaft not being tight enough, cos the screw sheared as I tried to undo mine! Sure enough, one of the bearings had collapsed, and I had a set of spare Trex bearings, but I'm now grounded!!!!

                  • Fixed! Drilled out the feathering shaft, tapped out the swarf, and used a screw from a microheli blade grip kit for the mSR. Back in the air!

                      • got an mcp last week tuesday but it threw a blade as i was holding it and checking everything was working as it should it also broke my tail boom where it enters the chassis boo hoo so i got an old micro servo and made a nylon bush and shortened the tail boom slightly and was flying within an hour, next morning i rang model shop where i purchased and they replaced the blade grips and tail boom free of charge for me bless em. i have now got t rex250 bearings to replace outers. flew it outside first time saturday and even managed to loop it 6 times lol its better than i thought it would be.

before this i have only flown msr's but to the extreme, me and 4 friends combat them in his front room and its great fun, we dont do contact battles just try to get above and blow others down but we have had a few mid air collisions with minimal damage.

1 thing im unsure of with the mcpx is when i go inverted it does not have the same lift, im using a dx5e at the moment, my friend has the dx6i and when he programed it it only had 75% on the negative pitch and as mine is not adjustable i wondered if it will be factory set at 75% for non computer mode?
