  • Recommendations for wire to use for re-wiring MCPX parts

    Hey all

Sorry, couldn't find a proper place to post this.

Can anyone recommend some electrical wire I can use if I ever need to re-wire any parts on my MCPX (or any other similar sized RC helo, I have a Skyartec Wasp Nano CPX also)?

I'm currently thinking I might need some electrical wire for the motor if I choose to extend my MCPX tail boom, or to do a solid tail boom mod on it.

    TIA

you can get piano wire of various thikneses off e=bay to remake wire frames or fine steel / aluminum rods as well for those heaver jobs
i had to rebuild the ladder frame on a bell 47 stainless for main frame and piano wire for the drive and tail rotor servo rod

When I had mine I picked up some Kynar 30awg wire which looked pretty much identical to the original spec. I also found what I believe to be the original tail connectors, I bought a strip of 50 of each and cut them down to size:

      Male pins:
GRPB031VWVN-RC Sullins Connector Solutions | Connectors, Interconnects | DigiKey

      Female socket:
LPPB031NFFN-RC Sullins Connector Solutions | Connectors, Interconnects | DigiKey

Alternatively, Lynx sell an extended tail wire. And trust me, unless you're comfortable soldering some tiny things, these connectors are a real pain to solder!

And come to think of it, the stock wire had a fair bit of extra length on it. I purchased a Lynx extended solid tail boom for one model, and just untwisted the stock wire, it was plenty long enough.

Is this for an mCPX (v1/v2) or an mCPX/BL?

If the former, there is a stock long boom : Long Tail Boom Assembly: mCPX/2 (BLH3602L): Blade - #1 By Design

For the latter, there is a solid boom (not long) : BLH3902S Solid Tail Boom

Thanks I'll take a look at that wire. I need to re-wire the tail motor on my Skyartec Wasp Nano CPX also as the frame is broke where the tail sits and the only way to remove the tail boom is to cut the wire!! I figured if I get the right gauge/type wire now I will at least have it when/if I need it.
