  • New mCPx failure

    hi all

I just bought an mcpx, I was midway through my 2nd charge when I threw it in the grass as I had lost orientation (still learning). Anyway, learning on grass before I go all sports hall for the winter. Picked it up and a blade pushrod has come off, and the canopy had torn (wtf) so I popped the rod back on, and lo and behold, the elevator servo has packed up, the front two work, but not the rear. After only 24 hours of ownership, hmmm.

I think I will be contacting the shop (not their fault I know) about a return and replacement.

While I'm here, what else should I know about this heli?

Gotta agree with Nick. Collective pitch helis have VERY high head speeds. The mcpx is a tough heli and will withstand crashes better than most other helis in its class or others. But no heli is guaranteed from surviving a crash. Sorry - but "24 hours" is irrelevant if you gave it a dirt nap!

Perhaps consider starting with a fixed-pitch ( 4 channel ) heli until you're more confident?

Think that you weren't very lucky,
but you should know that not only the Mcpx but all helis are supposed to be in the air and not cutting grass, and if they crash things will break,
you will be lucky to have a case there, but as it is Horizon hobby you may get away with some spare parts to fix it.
good luck and keep it up!

Anyway, you'll like this guys, you will.

I had another nosey at the heli, mainly out of cheesed-off-ness. Then I saw it, the servo plug had come out of the board .

              RichardV, Indeed.
Tomatwalden, bit late for that now I think. I jumped straight in with a 3D Storm (6ch and cp) and also have an HK500.

              Back in the air.

                    Quite.

Hey, if more people took themselves less seriously, the world would be a better place. If I'm gonna get the p155 taken out of me, I may as well start the ball rolling
