  • Help! Broke Battery Cable. How do I fix?

Can you help me chaps. I don't know what I need to buy to resolve this issue. The battery cable that comes out of the Flybarless PCB has broken. Basically the black lead has come out of the white connector at the batter end, looks like the cable has snapped as i see some metal protruding from the black sleeve around the white clip.

what do I need to fix it? Do I need a whole new board or can i get some wire? Can someone help me with what I need to get?

    Many thanks.

I presume you are on about the MCPx in your signature? Is a picture possible it will help with finding a solution.

If you are able to use a fine tipped soldering iron and carefully peel back the plastic to find where it has broken you could simply solder it back together then apply a little epoxy resin around it or something similar to insulate it. if i am right about what you are describing.

again if im right about what your describing you could use something like this M-CPX*charge*adaptor*lead*BEC :: Battery*/*Charging*Accessories :: Batteries,... to replace the end. This would still require a bit of soldering to do it properly tho. at a quick glance I cannot see that Blade sell a replacement cable.

Another option would be to return it to horizon hobby's as I'm almost certain the will repair it free of charge they have a very good custom service

I would have a go at striping off the heat shrink and cut and re solider wires then re shrink or use hot glue/epoxy to insulate. if that failed get something like the cable i posted and chop and join it on. or you could send back to HH to repair but if you are capable it would be cheaper after postage to do it your self.

you wont be able to rejoin unless you tin the bare wire and connection first with flux core solder. else you will get a week joint
