  • First time out with DX4e & MCPX V2

And boy is is frustrating at the moment. On setting the trim for my TX, do I set the sliders central and then tweak from there? I think once I get it trimmed and learn to use a lighter touch on the controls, I will remain airborn and controlled rather than looking like some heli gurning after consuming a gallon of redbull!!

Currently I am launching into the stratosphere then bouncing back to earth like on a bungy cord or rolling left/right of the skids.

Anyone in Aberdeen or the shire? Would be good to spectate and chat and get some pointers.

    Thanks

    Andy

Not a lot you can do with a dx4 just set every trim Central and the Throttle trim to Zero, leave all switches in off, then take it from there! The mcpx takes a little getting used to but great little flyers I love mine! Happy flying.

Set it up as per the manual for your Tx.

Then use the dual rates and expo to calm the thing down. (EDIT - don't know your Tx so may not be possible).

They are nippy little blighters and if - like me - you have the dexterity of a bull a small input into the sticks ends up as a lot of wayward heli.

Dual rates limits the amount of control travel from one end of the stick movement to the other.

Expo softens the inputs around the central area of stick movement.

On my Mcpx I use quite a bit of both.
          Happy Landings.

Right I started the same way you did and my best advice is. Take that pice of s&×t dx4 and jump on it you will have more fun. Then go get a programable radio the dx6 is great at about £80 new. And start enjoying that wicked little machine.
